View Full Version : Jedi Knight 2 jesper898 Thu, 16th May '02, 1:40pm Anyone else played thise great game? this is the best SW game ever:) Wildfire Thu, 16th May '02, 4:59pm Ooh yeah! Definitely a great game :D. Shame the single player mode isn't a bit longer :(. Volar Blackmane Thu, 16th May '02, 5:50pm Hated it. Remove those silly 'Let's see, I need to break these bars so I can get into the ventilation shaft, then I'll shoot a box filled with explosives from here. The box will blow up, taking a piece of the wall with it, so I can climb out from here, walk to the spot where the wall blew up, and continue with the game.' and it would've been good. I'd just like to know how people living in the place get to their jobs in the morning. 'I'll just pass through this garbage incinerator, hoping I won't die inside, then do a few 20 feet jumps and turn right at the street lights.' And this would be the 'best case' scenario. jesper898 Thu, 16th May '02, 10:23pm I think that the only bad thing about JK2 is that you can choose to become a dark jedi:( BTW Wildfire do you play online? Wildfire Thu, 16th May '02, 10:29pm jesper898 - yeah, although for some reason I am forced to leave and re-enter JK2 after playing any level or else my computer will restart :(. [Edit] Yup, I installed it.. [This message has been edited by Wildfire (edited May 17, 2002).] jesper898 Fri, 17th May '02, 12:17pm did you install the patch? Orkrist the Cleaver Sat, 18th May '02, 6:29am I was wondering when someone might mention this game. I just started recently. The game really is very good. Yeah, sure, the post-imperial physical plants aren't necessarily "realistic", but I've yet to play a FPS/adventure type game that was any good that was particularly realistic in that regard. Thank God. Anyway, it stays true to the SW genre as far as all the environments go. A really good game. Can't really say any more about it. Turandil Sat, 18th May '02, 11:48pm Only play MP, think they should make the darkside more powerfull, because they are cool. Lightside rules... Wildfire Sat, 18th May '02, 11:53pm think they should make the darkside more powerfull, because they are cool. Lightside rules... No way! Grip especially annoys me, particularly on levels like ns_streets and such like. And now with heal taking up half your force for 25 health, which isn't a particularly good deal in my opinion, it's even harder for lightside guys. Volar Blackmane Sun, 19th May '02, 2:00pm You don't know the power of the dark side... Tasohan Fri, 24th May '02, 2:56pm The dark side is indeed more powerfull than the light. I don't think grip is that good, but drain is VERY overpowered it doesnt give the opponent a fair chance! But besides that it's indeed the best SW game released so far. SlimShogun Mon, 27th May '02, 6:46am I'm having the same problem. After I destroy the last AT-ST on the final artus mine stage (Artus_surface or somethinglike that if i remember correctly) my game exits. It is infuriating and has forced me to play Freedom Force instead. ARGGGHHHH TriLleX The Slayer Sun, 2nd Jun '02, 1:55am I just tried MP .. Dueling rocks.. especially without forces and throw.. It could be cool if someone from this board could find a server and just play, play and play Maarek Stele Thu, 15th Aug '02, 11:33pm a SW game with bad lightsaber sounds is very sad Enthasius Fri, 16th Aug '02, 8:30pm Yay, a JK2 post. Jedi knight two is cool, and to those who think the "old-skool" method makes a game poor, how about they just make the WHOLE game a single straight line, fill it with enemy's, and thats it. SlimShogun Sat, 17th Aug '02, 3:36am My problem has been fixed, and I am enjoying JKII greatly. Palpatine Sat, 17th Aug '02, 4:59am Bah 3d shooters. After MotS's near perfect single player missions why bother playing anything else (unless you tell me there are more force power only levels in jk2). I got bored killing ppl in 3d during quake's hey day. Give me a good rpg, rts or space flight sim any day. griffin1987 Thu, 22nd Aug '02, 6:46am Hey all, if anyone wants to play Jedi outcast online with me that'll be great. IM me or send me an e-mail at griffin1987@aol.com or just griffin1987. Gothmog• Tue, 27th Aug '02, 4:58pm It was great until i got stuck somewhere in abyss filled with crates :( .I just stopped then = really bad idea. I hope i'll start again someday but MP 'couse it way more fun. Probably i'll just get killed 40times and then mad unistalled it again ;) Judas Thu, 29th Aug '02, 3:42pm JKII is certainly good, but I have a few gripes about the single player game: 1. Using your speed force ability in conjunction with fast / quick / whatever blue style is called trivialises ALL boss encouters. When I killed Desann, all I lost was 5% shield when he zapped me a bit, and about 2% health for the half second he managed to grip me. Seriously, it was so easy, I was convinced I was only half-way through the game right up until the end. 2. Some of those puzzles are SO stupid. It's never clear whether that near-impossible jump leads to a secret area, or just the next section of the plot. Another thing that really annoyed me was that certain parts of the game call for backtracking and doing other things, whereas others do not, and it's never immediately obvious which is the case. I must have spent HOURS in pointless backtracks because I missed an exit somewhere. And what's the deal with the hole in the cliff behind a waterfall, concealed by a bush, underwater in a swamp on one of the final stages?!? I combed the entire zone for well over two hours before I quit, looked it up, and FINALLY moved on. Multiplayer is a different matter. Whether you're playing against human opponents or just on your own against some bots, it's a heap of fun. I personally think the Dark Side has the upper hand, but that's probably due to the fact that I never really mastered Protect / Absorb / Mind Trick. The flak gun seems a bit overpowered, too, but it's still a very good game. The Deviant Mage Tue, 3rd Sep '02, 12:54am I've just taken to playing this game; wow. It's amazing. I personally love Capture the Flag and FFA online. The internet protocols are intense...in FFA you often hear someone shouting "SABER DOWN = NO ATTACK, N00B!" But it's still a helluvalotta fun to have 10 Jedi lounging around a building, looking dangerous, while 2 duel on a ship pad. And Judas, Light Side people who have mastered the Absorb, or whatever that power is, find fighting the Dark Side a lot easier. Especially if the force setting is low, because then the Dark Jedi may only have Grip or Lightning, so Absorb completely nullifies their Force attacks. But the best part is being Dark Side against a noob in one of the levels with catwalks over fatal drops. I love when they turn on their lightsaber and charge me, then end up completely befuddled as I Grip their, lift them 20 feet into the air, and fling them to their deaths without having moved at all. Sick curtaiN Tue, 3rd Sep '02, 2:32pm I haven't played the internet game yet but I do enjoy the multiplayer! The singleplayer isn't so bad either... I love pushing those hapless stormtroopers in to some abyss and here their girly screams!! Oh the carnage!!! Morgoth Sat, 7th Sep '02, 2:21pm I hate the Multiplayer!! As soon as I get spawned in baddies have surrounded me and are kicking my arse while I´m figuring out what´s happening!!  Padeen Dragonblade Sat, 7th Sep '02, 2:30pm I'm not a SW fan but this game is one of the coolest First person shooter I've played. Althought the multiplayrer sucks!!! Wildfire Sat, 7th Sep '02, 4:14pm On what grounds do you say that multiplayer sucks? The multiplayer is the best part of the game imho, as it is infinitely more playable than the SP mode. The only real problem with it is that there are too few maps and if you play long enough, it does start getting a bit tiresome. Padeen Dragonblade Sat, 7th Sep '02, 5:07pm As soon as I get spawned in baddies have surrounded me and are kicking my arse while I´m figuring out what´s happening!! Thats why I think it suck!!! Wildfire Sat, 7th Sep '02, 8:10pm So you're saying it sucks because you aren't particularly good at it? Right. Morgoth Sun, 8th Sep '02, 8:38am Uh, was that an insult directed at me too?!? Wildfire Sun, 8th Sep '02, 9:33am It wasn't an insult exactly; I just think that you can't say something is bad purely on the basis of your skill at it. Sapiryl Sun, 8th Sep '02, 4:55pm Multiplayer is definately the best part about this game. The lightsaber combinations are very well thought out, and the weaponry is (almost) balanced. One of the greatest tricks with the Golan Rifle is to not shoot your (light saber wielding) target directly, but to bounce it off of a wall next to or behind them. That way, the saber won't deflect the shrapnel. I think the only draw back to the Rocet Launcher is that guided mode takes up 2 rockets. Considering that the Disrupter Rifle can kill you with one shot, a 1 ammo guided shot isn't going to bother anyone. Padeen Dragonblade Sun, 8th Sep '02, 5:56pm I'm very good at it since all the enemies die in a few second but it's not nice to have tons of baddies attack you at the same time! Ray192 Wed, 11th Sep '02, 6:44pm great game, if only becasue of those sweet lightsaber battles, especially when you spawn 10+ reborns to fight you, or summon tons of allies and enemies to see them fight it out. |
