Do Oblivion have any special merchants like Creeper and the talking mudcrab in Morrowind?

To my knowledge, no. It's even worse than Morrowind moneywise, none of them won't be able to buy stuff that's worth a couple of thousand goldcoins. Let's hope someone creates a plugin for this real soon, because money is one of my major concerns in Oblivion, or more the lack there of.

I prefer the Oblivion economics. By level 10 in Morrowind I had about 200k, and money stopped being a problem. When I'd completed it and both expansions, I had about 2 million. Those special merchants were ridiculous (but I still used them :xx: ).

Thoronir, who runs the Copious Coinpurse in Imperial City has a few secrets worth discovering....

What's so special about him ? I did the quest involving him, but it didn't exactly make me rich. From day one i started playing Oblivion, my battlemage is a broke ass bum. I earned some decent coin in the arena as a gladiator, but i had to invest all that money in buying lockpicks, hundreds of them, to raise my petty security stats.

*minor spoiler*

The ring you gain as a reward for doing the quest is wort about 1000 spetims iirc.

What's so special about him ? *spoiler*

It's not the quest (ring). But follow him after he closes his shop. It could mean lots of free stuff...and gold from the other merchants (600gp).
