Well you see, this is a process called evolution, eventually that one slaughterfish will give rise to a land-dwelling species which will terrorise all of Tamriel (and possbily the rest of Nirn), until eventually sprouting wings and migrating to Vvardenfell.

I recall two alive slaughterfishes on top of a mountain somewhere on a small island near Dagon Fell, i'm not that easily surprised anymore. :shake:
