Anyone here has any way of defeating the dxxx fire giants and faldorn in the druids challenge? I don't mean to sound like a loser but I've tried everything but I have no way of killing either of them. I'll rather fight 3 liches at the same time than 3 fire giants. At least with liches, I stand a fighting chance

having not played that battle im probably not best qualified but some general advice would be to:
-use a scapegoat (mage with stoneskin/mirror image, or even better a prot. magical weapons scroll) - firegiants don't hit particularly often
-gang up on one particular enemy and take him out fast - before any more defenses can be put up or he can dis out any more damage
-cast improved haste on your top fighters (to double rate of attack). Regular haste just gives you an extra 1 attack.
- a bit obvious, but avoid using fire on fire giants
-divide and conquer! - split your attackers up if possible to avoid being mobbed
-use potions at the start of rounds in a kind of cast and attack fashion (that is to ensure your not standing around not attacking whilst waiting to quaff a potion)
If you could tell us your level/party composition people could give you better advice.

Protection from Fire is a big help - be sure to cast it on your tanks before they tackle the Fire Giants.
Improved Faldorn is a pain in the arse, and I've never come up with a consistently reliable way of defeating her.

Fire Giants are actually pretty easy to deal with even at low levels. Traps will take out a fair chunk of their hit points, and after that slow and a hasted party should be able to make short progress of them. I took the ones in the fire lab in WK at levels 8-9 this way (might have been a level or two higher, can't recall at which level you encounter fire giants rather than trolls in the fire lab), just make sure they focus their attention on a character who has stone-/iron skin(s) at his/her disposal!
I don't recall there being fire giants when last I dealt with improved Faldorn, might be level based tho :bad:.
Anyways faldorn herself is quite doable. Just go nutts in a buff frenzy, the essential ones being iron Skins (you *need* it at low levels to stand a chance), armor of faith and haste. Unless you have a fair amount of of Iron Skins at your disposal (2-3) consider chunking a potion of x giant str, and you'll have her iron skin down within rounds (I used cloud giant str last time, any will do, the more str the better tho ;)). ignore the adds as well, and just straight melee her into oblivion. Jaheira is bar far the better of her and Cernd to use here due to the fact that she can re-cast iron skins in the heat of battle. Cernd can't without changing to human form first, which is not adviseable seeing as he'll have the 2nd iron skin down by the time he's back in wolf form :p.
Also, if you don't mind cheesing it, you can position your party next to the pit, puase as soon as your druid is transfered there and give him/her equipment (if you pause quick enough you can even give him/her a armor!). This should make this a whole lot easier ;).
Good luck!

Oops. I forgot to mention that its the tactic mode that I am playing with right now. The fire giant can cast lower fire resistance, metoer shower or firestorm and fireball seemingly at will. my party got wiped out by firegiants in about 8 secs flat.
Faldorn is also impossible in Tactics

I am talking about tactics as well, and I owned improved faldorn on insane like that. There was no fire giant though! especially not one that throws metor and lower FR at will. Does it come paired with faldorn in the fight? Roughly what level is your party anyways?

Sorry, forgot to clarify. The fire giants were from the fire lab in the second level of watcher's keep. My part's average level was about 12/13
