Two quick questions -
1. On the old boards when you wanted to post a link, you first were given a popup screen to enter the link itself, and then another popup to substitute a name for the web address. It doesn't seem like that's possible with the new feature. As soon as you click "OK" with the web address is sends you back to your message.
2. In the message screen, on the far right there is a "#" button, with its function being "Wrap
tags around selected text". What exactly is the purpose of this?

1) You'll realize when posting a link, it'll appear like this (without the spaces) [ URL="blah"]blah. Just change the 2nd 'blah' to link name of your choice. After you click OK, this be will be highlighted.
2) It's to insert code into the boards... this can do all sorts of stuff, but the majority of people never have cause to use it.

1) Write the name of the address you want to add first, then highlight it with the mouse, then click on the add link button. It will add the link to the selected text. This way you can do it throughout the text much more easily, since it doesn't insert it all at the bottom of the post any more.
2) Code tags make sure to display text as it is inserted into the post, without changing the spacing or formatting in any way. This is to make sure that any programming code does not break because of unintended formatting changes. It's not something that's used much here since hardly anyone ever posts any code.
If anyone has any other questions like these, feel free to make use of this thread - there's a lot of new stuff, so don't be shy to ask how any of it works.

Here's a question: is there anything like a 'spoiler tag' for the new boards? Something that would make the affected text 'invisible' (same as background) until you highlight it. Or another thing I've seen done on one forum is make a clickable text box that reveals the 'spoiler' only after you "click here for spoiler".

Yea, that could be done (it's not in by default)... I'll put it on the to-do.
