So you can enable this in the .ini file just to have it disabled by the game's executable automatically? What way is there to fix this?

Well, if the problem is that the game automatically changes the settings in the .ini file when starting a game, I´d probably try this: Change whatever you want to change and save, as you probably already have done some times now. Then right-click the .ini file and in the Properties menu, enable write protect for the .ini file. That should prevent your custom settings from being overwritten by the game, AFAIK. The game as well as any other program should be unable to change any settings in the .ini file then. But, if you make any manual changes in the ingame menues that is saved in the .ini file, I believe they can´t be applied, so every change you make has to be done in the. ini file out in Windows, with write protect disabled when you change it, of course.
Is it true the way I´ve presented it here, all you tech-geeks?

I was under the impression 3D acceleration had been taken out of IWD2 entirely. If it has, then enabling it in the ini file won't do much.
