I was reading a few of the posts and I was thinking about soloing a monk/sorc. I haven't really thought about race or the division of levels. Any ideas?
I might consider addin one more character later in the game but I'm curious if this one would be any good.

Without thinking about race or class elvel break down.
I would think a Mon/Cle or a Mon/Dru would be a better solo choice.
You get the ac from dex for the classes, plus as a dru or cle, you'll have high wisdom which the monk will take advantage of for ac wise.
The other alternative is if you looked at mon/sor, it wouldn't hurt to throw 1 level or so of pally in, to add charisma modifier to your saves, as a sorceror will or should have pretty high cha.

I don't think the monk will give too much to the sorcerer. As Jechor pointed out, clerics and druids benefits more from the monk. Still evasion can be somewhat useful to save mirror images. And mirror image and better spells make sorcs a lot easier to solo than clerics at later stages.
If you still want a monk/sorc I would choose drow. SR can be really useful when soloing. Don't take more than 1 lvl monk.
If you plan to use powergaming stats, max cha and con. Minimize int (12 could be useful for spellcraft but you'll probably have an easier time with slightly better str, dex anc wis.
Use mirror images a lot!

Sorcerer and monk don't mix well. Cha is a dump stat for monk and wis isn't important for the sorc either.
Multiclassing sorcs slows down their spell progression, and for monks it's even worse.
A multiclassed monk is no monk any more. If you get BAB from another source the unarmed BAB table is broken. Even a pure class monk can do more damage with a good weapon than unarmed, without his special unarmed attack progression and with the slower unarmed damage increase you'll want to use a weapon, and for using weapons there are far superior classes.
The monk special abilities also depend on levels you don't reach as fast (if ever) if you multiclass.
The best multiclasses are drow monk1/sorc x and DG sorc1/monk x, but pure classes are superior.
If you want a challenge you can play the game with even levels, but it will require some skill if you have only 10 monk and 10 sorc levels when you're supposed to have a level 16 party.

I decided to give this a try... With a twist. I'm actually playing two characters.
-Drow Monk(X)/Sorc(X)
str-12
dex-13
con-12
int-5
wis-18
cha-20
-Drow Conjurer(1)/Fighter(4)/Paladin(X)
str-16
dex-14
con-12
int-12
wis-10
cha-16
I know this seems a little strange and I am finding it more difficult than I anticipated but I think it will be fun, if it doesn't drive me nuts first. :)
