This is trouble I got caught up in back in January. I just stumbled across a video if it on Youtube and had an urge to share it. Don't ask why, just did!
Basically, it was Chesterfield (my team) vs Grimsby. A bunch of Grimsby fans thought it would be a good idea to buy tickets for the home end and start giving it the big time Charlie. It kicked off. A few people got a bit bloodied. I was stood right where it kicked off and was struggling to keep out of the fighting! Got a few cracks and wasn't doing anything. People were charging past me from everywhere to try and get at the Grimsby fans. Thankfull the police stopped it escalating too much. The sad side of football, but it was the Grimsby fans obviously out for trouble that caused it.
The sad side of this is that the return fixture was only last week, and about 150 Chesterfield fans tried to tear down a steel barrier to get through to the Grimsby fans to get some 'vengeance', which will more than likely mean more violence to next time Grimsby come here. It's a viscious cycle I thought we'd more or less seen the last of...
People here probably don't give a crap, but it's a lot more 'personal' when you were involved in it!
