OK. You know I would never approach this game (being a die hard 2E and BG fan..it has nothing to do with my PC being too weak, I assure you! :mad: ) but my friend had it and was busy playing it like mad for the last few weeks. He really enjoyed the game and learned a lot of about the rules and concepts of D&D. I even helped him to choose skills, feats, spells etc. (now that I baited him into D&D I can introduce BG2 to him :evilgrin: )

I think he did well for a starter, survived well and did a lot of quests, he even managed to initiate Khelgar as a monk. (I liked Khelgar, kinda reminded me of Minsc! :p ) He built a spiffy drow necromancer, and then got the expansion (Mask of the Betrayer) in the middle of the game, and was annoyed to find himself unable to apply for the new prestige classes due to unplanned and inappropriate choices of feats. Anyway, this is not his worst trouble.

He got stucked in the final of Chapter 2 due to a bug. He does not have any patches installed so I am not sure if you can help or not...In the 'Sight' Quest. He says he has found the 'Fiery Heart' which was supposed to light up the 'brazers' but they don't and he is utterly stucked and can not finish the game. Needless to say he is extremely frustrated.

Say, do you know of a console code to subsitute this quest being done? Or any other work around? I know console codes were able to do wonders in good old IE games, but I am not sure about this one.

you have to install the latest patch via auto update, otherwise the original campaign won't work properly.this is a known issue, when you install exp pack over the original game the original campaign doesn't get patched properly for some reason.
