Here are today's Neverwinter Nights 2 forum highlights, collected by NWVault. Please take into account that these are only single parts of various threads and should not be taken out of context. Bear in mind also that the posts presented here are copied as-is, and that any bad spelling and grammar does not get corrected on our end.
Also Bioware released 3rd party tools and file formats for the community ONLY 3 months after release, which the same cannot be said of Obsidian. NWN Patches contained some fixes that not everyone were experiencing (Read: Rare Cases) and extras many a times.

It's interesting that you make this argument here. I think everyone can look to this post as an example.
People that say the same thing about NWN2 on the NWN2 forums are often labeled as fanboys/fanbois of NWN2 and are often criticized as putting down others' experiences.
I am going to take this moment to ask that the NWN1 fans, that hold NWN2 in contempt, please feel free to stick to your own forums. If you are a NWN1 fan and can remain civil, you are welcome here. If you feel it is your mission in life to make NWN2 fans' forum experience bad, then think twice.
The trend of NWN1 fans coming to the NWN2 forums with the sole purpose of declaring how much they hate NWN2 and will never play it is becoming tiresome. Genuine conversations about shortcomings and suggestions for improvement are always welcome.
But you would not appreciate NWN2 fans going to the NWN1 forums and posting threads and starting arguments, so please do not do the same here. Have the same courtesy for the NWN2 fans that they have shown you.

Why is it so hard for sequals to live up to the original?
My post is not directed at you, specifically, Lord Sullivan. I have found you to be a reasonable person and you try to remain respectful of others. It is directed at those people that live on the NWN1 side of things and feel they have a duty, a drive or whatever, to come here and post their displeasure over and over and over again. Then, after many months of absence, they return to post the same tired posts. Unfortunately, it was that section in your post that sparked my involvement, and that may make it seem as if this is directed at you. It isn't.
this is a general address:
As I said, we welcome discussion. We even welcome complaints and concerns. We also welcome suggestions and pontifications.
But I think the arguing for arguments' sake is getting out of hand.
NWN1 and NWN2 are two different games. They will each appeal to different types of people - but there may be some crossover. We are not here to steal NWN1 players or take away your NWN1 Persistent Worlds. There is no reason why both games cannot coexist and it shouldn't have to be a choice between one or the other.
Realize it or not, for some reason, the choice of NWN1 or NWN2 is deeply personal: much like the choice between Apple and PC. When you rail against someone's Neverwinter-of-choice, many people take that as an insult (you are insulting their taste in games). You can say they shouldn't, but I guarantee if the shoe was on the other foot, many of you would be compelled to defend your NWN staunchly.

Why is it so hard for sequals to live up to the original?
I think there has been enough arguing in this thread.
