I've seen that Kitrax, Aldeth and Loreseeker have already uploaded photos, and I expect more will follow soon.

With the advent of this upgrade we'll be retiring the SP Member Photos group on MSN, so I encourage everyone to port their pictures over to their profiles here ASAP. If you encounter any issues doing that, please let me know here.

I got pictures of my son up. (And technically, since I'm holding him in one the pictures, I guess there's a picture of me too.)

I put a few of my kids up (and one of me). Need to find a decent picture of the missus.

There are still 2 pending signups in SPMP; Chandos and someone I don't recognize. No new signups there will be approved, just FYI. SPMP only remains so that people can copy their pictures over to the boards now.

The customization options are great! If the color customization could be applied to the whole forums... count a new SPS.

The forums use a different and much more complex system of styles & templates, so that'll probably never be an option. Personal profiles, however, can be customized to everyone's desires.

Something weird happened to my picture...all of a sudden I have two albums titled "..." and no picture in either of them...

Sorry, I wasn't referring to the picture size, but the file size. At least, I assume that was the problem, as the 2 pics I uploaded were just over 1 MB each, while the third one gave me an upload failure message, and it was a bit over 2 MB.

Ah... IrfanView (http://www.irfanview.com/) is a very useful free program that you can use for basic image manipulation. If you can't figure out how to resize pics with it, just open a thread about it in Techno-Magic.

Oh, and I finally figured out how to compress picture files, so I uploaded a couple more.

For quick image resizing, the Windows Image Resizer PowerToy is actually the quickest and easiest way of doing it. Check out the Windows PowerToys main page (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx), and here's a direct DL link to the Image Resizer (http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/Install/2/WXP/EN-US/ImageResizerPowertoySetup.exe). Once it's installed, you just select one or more image files, right click it, and select the resize image option from the menu...you have several options too. :thumb: :D

Even though I have Photoshop...it's a lot easier to use the Windows Image Resizer tool for a quick change in resolution. :rolling:

There's no "all albums" section in the current version of the board software, though I'll likely be installing a mod soon that will enable just that.

The thing is, originally we were only going to get one cat. But then the wife said we should get two so that they can keep each other company. Finally got off my lazy bum and uploaded some pictures. I still cannot figure out how the software decides the order the pics should appear - I eventually had to add them one at a time to get them to appear in the order I wanted.

That's what I thought as well at first, but the first time I did this I got them in the order you mentioned. I didn't really care about the order of most but I wanted 3 of them in one particular order, so I went back and did 1,2,3 then 6,5,4, hoping to get 6,5,4,1,2,3. Instead I got 4,5,6,1,2,3 again. At that point I gave up and did 3, then 2, then 1. That seems to work.

So from what I can gather the latest set gets put first (as you had observed) but the order in which things are in each set seems to obey some bizarre laws of informatics that I do not understand :)

Maybe alphabetical by filename? :hmm:

The powers that be say that no order is guaranteed when you upload multiple pictures at once. But I expect that in the next board upgrade sorting pics will become available, as that's an obvious oversight.

Manual sorting would be great and if it's implemented then the initial order the pics are put in no longer matters.

I would recommend that pictures that contain private information - including pictures of yourself, your house, your school or workplace, or anything else that can identify you personally - should be kept private. A good piece of advice is to not disclose information about yourself on the Internet that you wouldn't tell a stranger in a dark alley - stuff like name, private address, credit card number, where you work, etc.

Updated my profile with a couple of more pictures of my son. I wasn't surprised that he enjoyed eating a canoli this weekend. However, I grossly underestimated the subsequent sugar rush that resulted from consuming that much sugar in one sitting. He was wired for the next 8 hours.

Actually, I'm not sure. I borrowed my dad's digital camera for the trip (which was a year ago), and I have no idea what brand/power it was. A regular vacation camera I guess, (set to macro mode, of course). :)
