I'm far enough along now in my Tutu game that I'm starting to think ahead to BG2. I'm playing as a wild mage and there's a mod here on Sorcerer's Place that I've always wanted to try for a single-class wizard called Stuff of the Magi.

It's a really old mod and doesn't play well with other mods. I'd like to make it Weidu. My modding abilites are not very good. Could anybody tell me if converting an "old-school" mod like Stuff of the Magi into Weidu is a task that a newbie can handle? Or would it require a lot of delving into the original mod's code?

I got the help I wanted over at Spellhold Studios. You can disregard this thread now.

You'd think the guy who converted it would send it over so I could put it on SP... I wonder if he got the author's permission for the conversion. In any case, I put it up for everyone to download (http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/dl.php?s=BG2&f=BG2/Stuff_of_the_Magi_WeiDU.zip).

Well, it's turned from a simple Weidu conversion into a rewrite. Everybody over at Spellhold agreed that while the mod idea was cool, it was overpowered.

I'm keeping tabs on the rewrite for my own game. I'll post when it's done.
