I'm having this kind of problem, I often can't talk with some characters because they "appear busy" although they AREN'T going anywhere. What is the problem and how can I fix it? I'm right at the start and I can't initiate dialog with Aerie. I have some ToB mods (Ascension) installed. I also have used some parts of the BG2_Tweaks setup and I think one of them might be the guilty. Any help?

This is generally an issue solved by the official patch :hmm:

simplest way is to save/load to continue. I haven't heard of a mod causing this error before, but I've not been watching the mod scene for a fair while either.

8people is right- this is an issue caused by playing a game without the official patch (which you should have installed before mods). Since you are right next to the start, I advise uninstalling the mods, installing the patch and then reinstalling the mods before starting again. You shouldn't have to do much again.
