I'm still planning my game, I need a pure rogue in my group and Yoshimo looks like the only choice. Is there a way to not lose him in Brynnlaw?

EDIT: If not, that's ok because I downloaded Fade. :)

Nope is the short answer. If he is with you when you are in Spellhold, the inevitable happens. I personally prefer Fade anyway- especially the romance, which is one of my favourites.

OK. Thanks for the answer.

I read somewhere about a method to keep Yoshimo, but it involves what is commonly known as "cheese". Before you go to Brynnlaw, remove him from the party and leave the area before he can talk to you. After you complete Spellhold and the subsequent quests, you can return and get him back in your party. I never tried this so I can't say it works for sure.

I remember acouple years ago reading about a mod that would "redeam" Yoshimo. If you took him with he wouldn't betray you or would be on your side but I can't remember what it was called. It didn't have his name in it.

If I remember right, you have to remove him from your party before spellhold. Then when you get to the CC and approach him, right before he turns red, he turns blue and if you either wack him or talk to him while in that state, he will rejoin the group again. It's been a long time but I think I tried that once and it worked. I'm pretty sure of this but not postive. I'm sure I finished the game with him, but alas, he would not appear in ToB.

@Vhailor: IIRC, you could be thinking of Tortured Souls. I think there is a way to keep Yoshimo by doing its main quest. Unfortunately, the mod has a poor reputation (particularly in terms of compatibility) and, as I have never played it, I cannot recommend it. Someone with more experience of it may be able to provide more information.

TORTURED SOULS!!! Slowly, I turned...

TS deserves its poor reputation, as even the creators will tell you. However, if you're fond of bugs, cheese, crap, and, oh yes, bugs, have at it. Otherwise, if you should encounter it, I'd advise you to not make eye contact, and back away slowly.

Don't use this mod, I guess would be the point I'm trying to make.

The Turnabout mod (which works with Ascension) allows you to summon him at the end of ToB (along with other dead NPCs). I've not tried it, though, so don't know how well it works.

I had taken Turnabout (and Redemption) too. Let's see what happens when I get to the end.
