When I played BG1 last fall I had a neat quest to put together Dynaheir's missing spellbook. I remember Drizzt getting involved. I don't remember which mod added it.

I added Dynaheir to my party and she mentioned the book. Drizzt just said goodbye after I met him. I haven't had any encounters dealing with the book. Is the quest bugged on me? I wish I could remember the name of the mod that adds the quest so I could be more specific. Hopefully this is enough for someone to help me figure out why the quest won't advance.

I think that the quest you mention is a part of the BG1NPC. (I've played through that quest and that's the only mod I have with EasyTutu.)

I had a similar issue once, but it sort of sorted out on its own, ( I think I left, some time passed, when I got back, the quest was resumed, but I'm not sure).

You could check the read me of BG1NPC to see what should be your next check point for that quest ( it is branched, depending on whether or not you are romancing Dy, and on meeting some gnolls or something).

Keep a save before Drizzt encounter (if you have any), try resting and then returning to the area where you meet him, or try to go to an area left of it. You could try triggering the next stage of the quest as desribed in read me, if nothing else works.

I thought it may be that mod. I tried setting the globals it suggested in the readme and no dice. Ah well. Looks like Dynaheir isn't getting her spellbook this run through.

You meet Drizzt for a second time in a different area. Drizzt does most of the quest for you. All you do is meet him back there in a day after talking to some gnolls.

Yeah, but weeks have gone by with no quest encounters. This is my second run through of BG1 in the past two weeks (I decided to reroll before I started BG2) and the quest didn't run for me then, either. Even after months of gametime.

You have to enter a specific area to triger the quest.

What area do I have to go to?

Anywhere on the western Sword Coast, outdoors, with Dynaheir in the party. There are actually three different methods of solving the quest. Don't go back to the same area you initially met Drizzt in, thogh - we had to take that off the list so that things would work with FlySoup's Drizzt mod.

1. Tell Drizzt to search on his own - he will come back and solve it for you.
2. Tell him you will search with him. You get some content, he comes back later and helps finish it off.
3. Tell him thanks but no thanks. Then you get two separate encounters, and kill some gnolls to find the missing page, resolving it on your own.

It's not a huge deal for me as I really don't like Dynaheir as a character. I just have her along because I'm playing with the canonical party.

Anyway, yesterday I completed all the outdoor areas. The quest never triggered for me in any area. I'm fine in just forgetting about it. I'm trying to move on to continue my game in BG2.

If you'd like, for debugging purposes, I'd be happy to package up a save game and mail it to you. I'm not worried too much about it personally but if you want to anaylze the glitch I'm game to help.
