I was just joking with somebody about some of the spells in BG/IWD/BG2, and we had a joking idea about improving the 1st level priest spell "magic stone" and changing the name to "magic stoned". The idea was to add a confusion effect to the spell (that you get a saving throw to avoid) in addition to the minimal damage. Since it's only a 1st level spell, we made the duration the same as Command. I haven't made a patch that can change the description, but I was wondering if anybody would be interested in such an improvement, or if you think we must be stoned ourselves to think this would make the spell useful while still maintaining appropriate power levels for a first level spell.
Basically, the spell now causes the 1d4 damage as before, and also a round of confusion (technically rigid thinking) with a saving throw to avoid the confusion effect.

You could submit it as a mod to Sorcerer's Place. If you want, I can make a WeiDU-based installer for it in 2 minutes (which correctly changes the description to yours).

I assume you mean to send it to sorcerer -AT- sorcerers.net? That shouldn't be a problem. It is just a minor mod to patch up an otherwise useless spell.
One other question. I made the mod for BG2 with TeamBG's Infinity Engine Spell Maker, but can I stick the same sppr106 file in my override folder of BG1 and/or IWD1, or do I have to start from scratch with each game?
This is the actual description I had in mind:
Magicaly Stoned (Enchantment)
Level: 1
Sphere: Combat
Range: 0
Duration: Special
Casting Time: 4
Area of Effect: Special
Saving Throw: None
By using this spell, the priest can create a small magical pebble, which then flys out and hits a target opponent. In addition, the target must make a save vs poison or be confused for 1 round. The stone deals 1-4 damage to whomever it hits. The stones are considered +1 weapons for determining if a creature can be struck (those struck only by magical weapons, for instance), although they do not have an attack or damage bonus.
Unless anybody thinks it should be a save vs spells, or should it be called a save vs death (same thing as poison) and assume that the confusion is the result of a concussion? Our original thinking was a joke on the name "magic stoned", but to put it in a public mod requires a little more thinking.

I think it should work without problems in BG1 (even if the values of some fields aren't valid for BG1). In case of BGTutu/EasyTutu, it should definitely work without any modifications. I don't think it's hard to port it to IWD either, perhaps some changes are required though (I haven't worked with IWD for a long time).
About the description: "magicaly" should be replaced with "magically".

What I meant was could I just drop the "sppr106" file that's currently in my BG2 override folder into my BG1 and IWD override folders?
Also, check my earlier question about where you meant to send the "unfinished" patch so you could get the descriptoins to work, as I haven't learned WEIDU yet.

I think it should work without problems in BG1 if you drop it to BG1 Override, but it should be tested. As for IWD, I'm not so sure.
Where to send it? Well, first to me (my username dot blackwyrmlair dot net), and then I send it back to you so you can send it to Sorcerer's Place as a mod.
