View Full Version : Bioware Dragon Age: Origins trailers
Erod Mon, 7th Jul '08, 6:23pm The official Dragon Age site recently got a small teaser, check it at: http://dragonage.bioware.com/.
As the site says, expect more information in two days. Apparently they were not lying about releasing something new about the game in the recent interviews after all. Maybe even a 2009 release is possible.

NOG (No Other Gods) Mon, 7th Jul '08, 9:00pm Yeah, the forums have been rife with EA officials citing a release timeframe of Q4 2008 or maybe Q1 2009, so we're all looking at March-April 2009 (end of Q4 2008 for Bioware).
I think this will probably mark the beginning of the marketing campaign, which will probably last 6-9 months IMO, which puts an estimated release somewhere January-April 2009. Still, Bioware has repeatedly stated that the EA officials aren't speaking officially on Bioware's behalf, though they've stopped locking down threads quoting these people.
Aikanaro Thu, 10th Jul '08, 2:34am Seems that it will be at E3 as well. Oh, and apparently they decided that 'Dragon Age' wasn't succinct enough (or bland enough, perhaps) and decided to change it to 'Dragon Age: Origins'.

Oh well - looking forward to seeing what the teaser shows.
NOG (No Other Gods) Thu, 10th Jul '08, 2:40am At the moment, it's showing how patient (or fanatical) some of the DA fans are already. It's 7:37 PM on July 9th by Bioware time and there's still no update. They had originally estimated an early-mid afternoon update.
Additionally, I think we've broken the Bioware record on speed of posts. We went through 2 whole threads (10 pages each) in about an hour and a half.
Erod Thu, 10th Jul '08, 12:22pm The page is updated now, a teaser replaced with another teaser, heh. A trailer will be out on friday, hopefully it will not be a typical teaser trailer though. So a bit more of waiting ahead.
As for the new name, Dragon Age: Origins, one could assume that they are possibly going to make several games in the DA universe.
Trellheim Thu, 10th Jul '08, 1:09pm Oh there's a thread already for this?.
Yeah the teaser of a teaser of a teaser is getting really irritating.
NOG (No Other Gods) Thu, 10th Jul '08, 2:36pm Unfortunately, the two big items (subtitle and trailer on GameTrailers) both got scooped hours (days for the trailer) before the website was updated. Generally, people aren't happy. On the up-side GameTrailers said the trailer is entirely in-engine.
Merlanni Thu, 10th Jul '08, 8:30pm Bioware just get on whit it !*5
Aikanaro Fri, 11th Jul '08, 6:19am Guh - someone shoot the marketing department.
Chandos the Red Fri, 11th Jul '08, 6:58am As for the new name, Dragon Age: Origins, one could assume that they are possibly going to make several games in the DA universe.
Yeah, maybe my grandchildren will enjoy them...
Erod Sat, 12th Jul '08, 5:42pm So the trailer is finally here, available in HD (http://www.gametrailers.com/player/36033.html) and SD (http://www.gametrailers.com/player/36034.html). It is not much though, but at least it tells us something about the game. I suspect a lot of people expected more, but I cannot say that I am dissapointed. There is still a long way to go before the release and we will undoubtely see more of the game in the near future.
Merlanni Sat, 12th Jul '08, 9:55pm Better to keep silent until you really have something.
Erod Sun, 13th Jul '08, 5:52pm There is a new, slightly different trailer out. It shows a bit more of the battle.
HD: http://www.gametrailers.com/player/36127.html
SD: http://www.gametrailers.com/player/36128.html
Erod Thu, 17th Jul '08, 2:35pm The official site got some updates now. It also has some "exclusive" content for the community members, currently a few screenshots of gameplay, wallpapers and the trailers available for download. Definitely worth to check them out.
NOG (No Other Gods) Thu, 17th Jul '08, 7:31pm Well, now there's purportedly a 3-minute actual gameplay video from E3 on there. I'm dwnloading it now.
Chandos the Red Sat, 19th Jul '08, 6:07am The gameplay video was a much better effort than the intro trailer. The game looks interesting and somewhat like NWN2 meets Obllivion. It could be the best of both worlds if the game is more open-ended than NWN2, which it is touted as being. Also, it was commented on as being "almost finished."

Sounds impressive.
