Wow! What a bag of mixed feelings! Just finished the Twisted Rune Crowd - Finally!
Definitely the hardest battle I've run across so far. Shadow Dragon and Firkraag were pussycats by comparison! Took 3 or four days (real ones) and umpteen reloads; two postponements for increasing XP & better weapons; and several rests and re-equip the spell library. But FINALLY, survived the battle with only two casualties, and they could be revived.

The Mixed feelings? Relief and satisfaction at a job well done. But disappointment and frustration at virtually NOTHING to show for it!! A few gold pieces and zip-all else!

Was it this way for anyone else; or did I get "special" treatment?
;) :)

Good story. Maybe it will make me think twice about barging in on them. So a question for you. Exactly, what do you use to get into the building, where do you get it, and finally, what building is it(the large two story one mostly north of the red flagon inn in the bridge district which you can't open the bottom door to). Sorry to ask, but the posts I've read before didn't make it really clear to me.

ya need a Rogue Stone (those are EASY to find j/k.....Twisted Rune is directly underneath the main door to the Delosar Inn......the XP is good but the Treasure isnt NEARLY good enough...specially cause fighting TWO Firkraags at once would be easier!

Did you disintegrate people or something? I haven't done this yet, but I understand that you get a pretty powerful Staff of the Magi off of one of the mages...

No, I never used disintegrate (don't like it just because of the possibility of item loss). Mostly, I tried to stay in the entry room area and draw the bad guys to me and stay away from the Vaxall until I got rid of Shandlar(sp) and the other two who rush in. I did notice from the battle messages that Layenne(sp) (the other main wizard who stays on the other side of the room, invisible, and casts timestop, gate, etc) got involved with attacking other bad guys, including the Vaxall and Pit Fiend she summoned! Maybe that's what finally saved me that time--they pretty much wiped out each other! (I got in a couple of final blows!) Anyway, I didn't see any messages that she used disintegrate, but could have missed it. Besides, the bodies seemed to be there, not disintegrated.

I searched everyone carefully. Would hate to think I somehow missed something of real value.

BTW this was the first time I used the spell Truesight, and I was REAlLy impressed. It won't be the last. Not only does it dispell invisibility and illusions, but it keeps activating for quite a few rounds after casting. Makes it harder for mages to recast their hide spells after being discovered!

Mobeus, I hate to say it but you missed staff of the magi-the best weapon a mage can use(especially Imoen) and you should try it again :(.You probably missed one disintegrate or stone to flesh,I'm sorry.BTW Truesight is the spell that makes Keldorn great(along with Carsomyr of course).
