Hi, my char is a inquisitor. I just saved garren's daughter in windspear hills and got admitted to the radient heart order. I was given a room but why can't I sleep there? Also for the first task which i'm supposed to do in umar hills, where are these knoghts I am supposed to save, I walked through the whole map but couldn't find them. Any ideas why?? Replies will be most appreciated.

You can't sleep in buildings (in general), unless you are in an inn, or are in Rayic Gethras' home.

C'Jakob, that isnt quite true, I think the thing about him not being able to sleep in the room given to him is a bug, not sure about that as i havent played a paladin in BG2, but when i played as a theif and got the 'Hold i could sleep in the room that was previously Mae'Vars, so im pretty sure you can sleep in the room given to you within your StrongHold. I could be wrong..but if irc it is a bug

I remember my Cavalier could not sleep in that room either, not that it really matters. IIRC those knights should be around the middle by the cave. I almost remember being cut screened there when I entered the hills. Hope that helps:)

Hhhmm tried that too Sorvo, they weren't there. I entered the cave and all but they're no where to be seen. When I go back to the order's building, the man told me that i wasn't even at the fighting. well, How could I be at the fighting if there was no fighting!!! If it is a bug, anyone know where i can get the patch??? Also I've been walking through the whole umar hills, coudn't find these knights, is it supposed to be a bug too??

I can't detect any problem in the Umar Hills script, all of the critical creatures should have been spawned...

I must ask you to zip your saved game and mail it to me and I'll check it up.

P.S. I've seen another person who has the same problem as me but the problem wasn't solved in the forum. I think the person's nick was mushu

Search for the savegame in its directory, rightclick on it and choose for "add to ('filename').zip"

Hm don't have that zip option. Do i have to have a special software for this?? The file size is about 470 to 500 Kb. If i can'T zip it can i send it to you like this Extremist?

I've received your game, but this is the game saved AFTER your exploration of Umar Hills. I'm unsure why that happened to you, I may only speculate that something occured that broken the area script - possibly ClearAllActions() command in someone's script.

Anyway, load the same game you've sent to me. Go to Umar Hills.
When you reach it, it will already be too late to get quest episode start - the timer will expire because you travelled twice between Athkatla and Umar Hills and you won't be able to deal with the quest.

To correct it, you'll have to issue this command in the console:
[COMMAND EDITED OUT - it can mess up your game, see below for details]

If you're not familiar with the console, post and I'll correct the game myself and mail it to you.


btw, for others that get the same problem - this command won't work for you! I've constructed it especially for him based on his saved game, so if anyone gets the same problem, please zip the game and mail it to me, but WITHOUT returning back to Athkatla, otherwise I won't be able to determine what and why it actually happened like in this one.
