when minsc says that a creature may have bigger teeth than boos but they all hurt the same when bitten in the eye
that had me roaring especially with boo twittering in the back ground and minsc's sarcastic voice hes worth keeping just for his speeches oh and another when the lilarcor says that his mum said hed grow up to be nothing better than a butter knife another classic this game can be soo funny at times

I dunno about you but i want the swords +12 hackmaster brother that he keeps talking about...

Bah...the funniest ever is Minsc, in full voice...(you'll hear it eventually if you keep him in your party all the way). I'm capturing the jist of the beginning, not quite word for word though.

Pretty much anything that Minsc says! He was a blast in BG, and he is even better in BG2! I think my favorite so far was the conversation with the litte kid from the Umar Hills! I was LMAO!

IronEagle, the +12 hackmaster is a sword from the cartoon "Knights of the Dinner Table". It appears in the AD&D-magazine Dungeon...or was it Dragon...? Well whatever, one of those.

Too bad it doesn't really exist ;)

things i hate about the charaters talking is when youre preparing for a fight and stupid aerie pops up and says **** bout her wings personally i wish theyd sawn her head off (trouble is shes a good spellcaster but a gibbering wench)

Hey don't diss aerie, the poor thing has been through a lot...leave her to babble as she likes

Aerie hardly says anything in my game.
Is this another byproduct of having a female protagonist?

She commented once on Jaheira's hair in the circus tent and I bet she never does that again! ;)

She protested that she was also a healer when Nalia asks Jaheira to heal Aerie, when near fatally wounded

Her most frequent comment is "Being underground is no place for the Avariel."

While rescuing D'Arnise Keep from the troll and "snake things" invasion it was most entertaining to hear Nalia say: "I really don't like this. How are we helping the less fortunate but treachering around here?" Indeed, we were just saving her home, that's all :)

Poor Nalia is so misunderstood. She's a ballroom revolutionary.
So she will do (allmost) everything for the poor, and considers her own fortune as secondary. She wanted her castle freed more for her parents and the local people than for herself.
Nalia only wails when she's really low on HP.

Nalia should have been swashbuckler/mage and not thief/mage!

I know people find Anomen annoying but I like his arogant "What is it now" and if your reputation is high he jips the whole party whilst giving a back handed compliment.

The voice which says "I'll break an arm or a leg for a copper or two" is amusing too.

I HATE Imoen's whine and Jeheria p*ssed me off too

Also how cheesy is the "To victory and beyond" default character voice

I'd have to say the following from Keldorn (the axe-weilding Dwarf, I confuse his name with the Paladin sometimes)

"You better change your tune, or I'll be swinging me axe and I'll not be likely to stop it!" or something like that, also
"Lets see what yer guts be lookin' like!"

I feel you on the default character voices. They make me cringe. From the downloads section on this site I used Sean Connery's voice from Dragonheart for my monk, Jack Nicholoson's voice from As Good As It Gets for my evil berserker, and Annah's voice from Planescape Torment for my fighter/druid in BG1.

I haven't gone far in my current (and 1st) game; I'm at the end of Chapter One. But I find Minsc's lines hilarious. He's a keeper, at least for this current game. :D

I personally like it when the programming doesn't allow for Ust Natha being a drow city and Viconia says "The stink of the collected rivvil! How I despise them all!" My favourite exchange is when Jan starts to annoy Viconia with his stories and you can say "It all began when Jan's cousin, Plooty Paladin-Piper was challenged to a nasty flesh-golem eating contest..."

Stand around for awhile and listen to their bored comments. I have only played through once, so haven't heard as many. So far my favorite is Minsc:

"Boo needs his exercise, or he will bite us all in hard-to-reach places!"

My favorite is at the end of the conversation between viconia and Edwin(cant remember where). She makes some comment about Thayvians being real men and he says

They actually have a voice over of these lines, you dont just read them. I couldnt stop laughing for 5 minuites.

when minsc gets hit in mid spellcast and loses his spell

Or when he's severly jacked

and really....am not that far into the game yet...but in the very last battle against Irenecus, Boo should bite him in the damn eye for 4 points of dmg. he really should.
Hehe, and would it have killed them to make boo Minscs familiar in this game? I know rangers can't have them, I know, but still...

I downloaded the BG1 soundset and am using Xan as the voice for my mage. I love his cynicism.

I don't really like any of the NPC sayings in BGII, and Minsc was getting quite annoying. A man can only take so many "ahh, we're all heroes now..." speeches a day before he renounces his good nature and clubs a certain ranger over the head.
