I had a lot of fun with this guy. First I had Yoshimo set a few snares in the tavern then I had him go in the back room and backstab the sucker. As soon as he attacked me I had Yoshimo run back into the first room. The lich gave chase and was pelted by some snares which really pissed him off :). I then had the whole party run outside and hide while the guards battled the lich. It was quite immusing to watch and I got some free plate mail . I then cast breach on him an pounded him until he was dead.

Please share some stories of yours about this fight or any other which you had fun with. All posts are welcome. :)

Hah! Thats a cool idea; I'll have to try that if I play an evil game. Being the Nietzsche-baiting do-gooder that I am, I always twatted the lich in his tomb so as to cause as little ruckus as possible. Thanks for the insight, Sarevok.

Oh, that fight: Jan ran inside under an invisibility spell, unlocked the chest in the tomb, grabbed Daystar (the sword inside), ran back out, identified it, equipped it on my Cavalier, ran him back into the tomb, and cast Sunray. It dropped the Lich where he stood.

Here's two fights I really enjoyed:

1. Samia's party in Firkraag's dungeon. I knew she'd betray me, so to save time, I refused her offer and attacked her and her party. First, Jaheira cast Insect Plague, which would prevent the spellcasters from casting spells. Jan cast Confusion, which knocked the party into chaos. While they were slapping at bugs and bumping into the walls, Anomen cast Flame Strike at their Cleric, while Nalia cast Flame Arrow at their mage, followed quickly by a another Flame Arrow from Jan. Launcelot (my Cavalier) and Minsc charged their fighters and quickly finished them off, while Anomen mopped up the spellcasters. All and all, a rather economical fight.

2. Firkraag. Launcelot, Minsc, and Anomen each drank a strength potion, then Launcelot cast Resist Fear on the whole party and charged the dragon wielding the Dragonslayer, followed by Minsc and Anomen. Nalia and Jan each cast Lower Resistance, knocking Firky's down to 62%. Jaheira cast Insect Plague to keep him busy slapping bugs. Then the dragon knocked the whole party back with a wing buffet. Normally the party would've have run in fear after this, but Resist Fear prevented this. My fighters charged again. Nalia cast another Lower Resistance spell, and Jan cast Greater Malison. Jaheira started going around healing wounds. Anomen stepped back and cast a Flame Strike spell, while Jan and Nalia each cast a Flame Arrow, followed by Magic Missile. By now, the dragon was hurting something fierce. Then, with one mighty swing, Minsc the crazy hamster-loving ranger dispatched the mighty beast with his talking sword, Lilarcor. A most satisfying fight. All in all, it took about three minutes.
