Hi, I've just finished Phaere's mission to get the helmet (as proof of killing the patrol), and my journal says to return to her in the Ust Natha tavern... problem is - she isn't there.

Is there something wrong here? Should I be able to find her somewhere else, or are there any global variables I have to change to fix my savegame?

iirc she gives you some time to complete the quest and therefore some time has to pass before you can speak with her. (I may be wrong though)
I suggest you just wander around and search for her in the city or do some other stuff in the underdark so that a few days would pass and then try again. If this does not work just reload some save before the quest and do it again.

Thanks, I might try that, but it seems the journal says something like "I need to see her as soon as possible so that she doesn't get impatient", there was another mission that said something like "I'll see her in three days, until then it is my own time", but I've already done this.

I have tried resting a few times, but maybe leaving the area to try something else and returning will help.

****... I've given it a few days game time and it still isn't fixed, I'll have to go back a few chapters (never felt the need to save to prevent the game from killing my progress).

I'm still open to changing game variables if anyone knows how to fix this (I'm still wondering how the hell the game messed it up, maybe having ToB installed did it?)

I had a similar problem with her not appearing ... in the end I had to go outside of the inn and return at the right time. It's been a while since I did this, but I seem to remember have to sleep quite a bit to get her to appear.

I had TOB installed as well, but she did appear in the end, so it's not that that's causing it.

IIRC, you should go back as soon as possible for the helmet mission. When I played it, she stayed in the tavern when I got the mission and after I'd got the helmet, so I guess bug?
