one of the mysteries I still have with this game is the apparent "no solution" to 2 traps going to a storage room in the asylum dungeon. Although your thief can detect them, the walls always close and the dude is killed. If I'm missing something, please take a minute to share.

You're missing something. It can never be disarmed, but the hallway just leads to an area you can reach through another staircase. Your map should make it clear to you.

Easiest way to deal with it is to summon something, like two bears and have them walk through the traps. Sounds cruel, but according to spell descriptions they are sent back to where they were summoned from before they actually die.
Somewhere has some rather flat bears and other miscellaneous wildlife.

No that won't work with this trap, it resests itself! You can go through it but only if you send only one (1) character through at a time - this can be a pain because iirc there are some enimies on the other side.

There's a very easy solution to that trap: take another route, really :p
