View Full Version : Darkest Day problems

Greetings...

I've downloaded TDD (and the patch), and I'm having a few problems with character creation. I was initially just tooling around with the new kits, and the following happened:

1) With the cerebral knight (pally kit), when I got to the 'abilities' screen, the game did not allow me to assign any proficiencies...had actually closed off *all* the weapon slots. One of the reasons I downloaded the mod was for the new kits, but it's not going to be worth much if my pally can't use any weapons.

2) With the shadowmaster (druid kit), the pc should have at the start an innate 'create shadows' ability. What I got in my special abilities bar was improved invisibility. Which, naturally, is not what I wanted.

Any suggestions (and I repeat, I've already downloaded and installed the patch.)?

The Create Shadows ability is invisibility, just under a different name. Don't know about the other point, though.

If that's the case, what is the 'create greater shadows' ability? I thought I'd be summoning shadows.

From memory, I think one of them grants invisibility while the other actually summons shadows. It's very random.

The Vampire Hunter fighter kit also has create shadows (which worked like Improved Invisibility for me, unless I'm wacky). It also gives a +2 to Con and immunity to level drain, with some lame disadvantage to balance it out (like not being able to use bows or something). Yet another example of a poorly thought-out and overpowered kit that came with TDD. Blegch.

That's my biggest complaint about TDD. 50 million kits, only a few of them are any good. And by any good I mean cool AND challenging. It almost seemed like they made a pantload of kits just for the sake of making a pantload of kits. Most were just horrible (Planewalker Theif, anyone?) or horribly done (Ninja, anyone?).

Why do I complain about free mods? I just feel TDD had a lot of potential, that's all.

@ Gonzago

You mentioned that you installed the TDD patch but did you patch SoA as well?

Also do you have any other mods installed?

I would actually recommend uninstalling it and never looking back. You will spend hours and hours on your darkest day game, then one day a glitch, or bug, will screw your game up. It ruined BG2 for me since I loved some of the kits and extra quests. It would be a great mod if not for all the bugs.

ps: DR, I love the gratuitous use of pantload
