Are there any items that give a permanent stat boost in BG2 (as the Tomes did in BG1)?

i have played through and i have found no such thing, there are items that give boosts but i know thats not what youre lookin for...maybe someone else can help both of us out on this one.

Yes and in the end, you also get some permanent boosts depending on your alignment. You'll see

Well I forgot that one.... Indeed in the end there are some increases, but I thought that was after the final save was made (?)

yup, no tomes anymore and no stat-swapping potions like in icewind dale.
