Ok. I'm stuck with Jaheira. Big surprise right? I've searched the forums for help here and got nothing, so I thought I'd post where I am and what I've tried to fix this. DO NOT READ if you don't know about this, and don't want to see some spoilers.

I am using the cheat to have a concurrant romance with both Aerie and Jaheira; far as I can tell, Aerie is finished, but Jaheira is stuck. I am in Chapter 3, and Jaheira has asked me 'How did you like that last battle?' twice now. From what I've read, this is supposed to be the second time Dermin appears, but he frickin refuses, and I don't want to go on to chapter 4 and risk losing Jaheira until Chapter 6. Here's what I've tried to do:

1) Timing: I have tried leaving my computer on and paused overnight; no result. I have tried resting about 30 times, THEN leaving my computer on and paused overnight; no result.

2) Place: I have tried the above in the Docks district; in the Slums outside the Coronet; and in the Temple Ruins--no result.

3) I have tried using Shadowkeeper to reset my JaheiraRomance variable from 52 (its current level) to 51 and done all of the above; no result (although she does repeat the 'Did you enjoy our last battle?' bit, no Dermin.)

4) I have tried, after reading some posts on various boards, setting the global variables DerminAppear to 1 and DerminSpawn to 3, with and without setting JaheiraRomance back to 51; no result, and then applying all the above modifiers; no result.

5) I am in the middle of the harper quest (obviously :), I have bought Jaheira's locket, and I have tried just about every form of time-delaying and resting combination I could think of. De nada.

6) Did I mention yet that I am as stubborn (and stupid) as a bull, and am FREAKING PISSED OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! at the absurdity of all this? :)

7) I am ready to kick that ***** out of my party and forget her, big time; the only thing keeping me from doing so is, well, see 6.

8) I have tried setting AerieRomanceActive to 3 to denote it's finished (I'm wondering why it *isn't* at 3, but I'm *not* going to bother with that right now, as it seems to be complete), and I've even tried removing all references to a romance with Aerie--nothing.

Can anyone help me? Does anyone have any ideas I haven't tried? Please help me if you do; I am SO ready to toss this game out into the street for some car to run over...

Just a quick thought as you seem to have tried most things. Have you checked the JaheiraRomanceActive to make sure it hasn't gone to 3. If it has set it back to 2. Also you mentioned the JaheiraRomance variable was at 52 so you put it back to 51. If nothing else works you have nothing to lose by setting it forward to 53 to see if things start again. You'll probably get some out of context dialogue about Dermin but if there is no other choice......

Finally, I'm amazed that you said you couldn't find anything when you searched the boards :eek: . Unless you mean you found stuff but none of it helped. Anyway, if you are still looking for ideas try searching with the terms romance, variable, and Slappy. Don't limit yourself to Jaheira as most of the romance principle are the same whoever you are romancing. Also, you might want to look at the romance walkthrough in the BG2 section.
