I'm still waist deep in chapter 2, and have completed most of the quests. But I can't complete some of Jaheira's stuff. I'm trying to rescue Montaron, but when I go and talk to the guy outside the Harper house, Rylock, I think his name is. He just tells me he has nothing to say to me. Ignorant pig! How do I get inside the Harpers house? I must be missing something, but what? I hope there isn't a time constraint on the mission, because it was one of the first ones given to me, but I couldn't be bothered doing it straight away. Any ideas?

I think this gets triggered once you take the body of Renfield there... while travelling between areas you should get 'waylaid' by a group of thugs who are beating up a guy called Renfield. Kill them all and he will ask you to take him to the harper base.

Yeah, I've done that. Did it ages ago. Got it as a completed Quest and all that. But that bugger just won't talk to me. Maybe I need to go and buy him a coffee or something.

I've already talked to him. He told me to get into the Harpers and get his mate. So he started the quest. Do you mean I need to find him again?

Xzar shouldn't have anything new to say but the regular "Well have you found Monty yet?" deal in which you can say things like "no, not yet." or "forget it, I'm not up for this." What should be happening is Rylock, the guy in front of the Harper Quest, should be telling you he will let you in the Harper Hold if you do the Harpers a small favor. This entails going to a guy's house in the north-west section of the Docks, just across from the Shadow Theives guildhall. The name of the house is Prebek's house and it is marked on your overhead map. Go there, kill the enemies inside, loot if you want, and report back to Rylock.

So if you can't talk to Rylock now, maybe you already did, since you said you did this a long time ago, and he gave you the Prebek mini-quest and you just haven't gone to Prebek's house yet? Maybe that is the problem.

Hmmm....let me try that. You may be right, since it was such a long time ago. It may just be a case of me going senile.

If that doesn't sort the bugger out...well, I'll be posting here again soon.
