I was just wondering, because i have found the best weapon to use on a dragon besides blues is the new wand of lightning. the one that shoots six bolts per shot. for my money, it takes about 3 shots to kill a dragon once you use magic restance to bring its MR down. has anyone else found that little stratey?

Ya, that was how I killed the shadow dragon and Firkrag for the first time. I did that and used a few traps. I don't do it anymore though because it isn't that fun.

Its an especially good application for lightning as the caverns where dragons usually reside are huge, thus reducing likelihood of bouncing lightning causing party damage. Other handy (and oft unheralded) dragonslaying spells are:

-Doom x2/3: I think these 1st level priest spells are cumulative and as you're only fighting one dragon they take the place of greater malision excellently.
-Chaos: Yup, it surprised me too. Picture the scene: Firkragg was shafting me royally when, on the off chance that the spell might have a practical application, Nalia cast Chaos, promptly befuddling the crimson scaly one and making him run into a corner where Sebastian the Ranger, Keldorn and Mazzy beat him mercilessly until he went down. Hah!
