Has anyone had Edwin long enough after gaining the Nether Scroll to have him complete his study of it? He exclaims that he now has the power then his circle turns purple and you can't talk to him. I almost got locked into a room with him because I no longer 'had control of all my party members'. Ultimately he got killed (while purple). Is this a glitch or is there some way to bring him back?

Well, NPC's go purple when they're fighting with each other, but I don't think that's what your problem is...

I noticed my party had purple circles when I was in spellhold when Irenicus sent me into a dream to confront my slayer side. It seems to mean the NPC is in a different realm of existence and can't be reached.

Try to get himt to finish the ceremony with the Nether Scroll without being killed. Should work, but I'm guessing since he got killed while using it, there was a bug that keeps him with the purple circle.

Purple circles mean that you have no control over a certain character until they have completed their tasks, so you will have to reload.

I don't have any trouble with Edwin and his nether scrolls. I didn't install the SPfix, but it claims to fix something about Edwin's quests. Perhaps it will fix the bug that you experience.

The same thing happened to me. I just used the talk button, clicked on him and he said something and came back into the group.

Oh, I get it! This is when Edwin becomes Edwina! I thought Edwina was just the result of some idle game hands toying around with the program. Little did I know it was actually part of the game!
