I agree, the barbarian disadvantage isn't. (well, not really - after all, he CAN wear shadow dragon scale!) I had great fun playing as him - especially as i kept charging into battle ahead of everyone else... had to give Minsc the boots of speed and even then he only just kept up!

i dont think its the armor disadvantage that ppl dont like, its that they can only have normal weapon specialization (++)

Hmmm; I actually prefer characters who can only specialize in weapons. When I play a fighter I sort of feel obliged to have grand mastery in stuff which really limits the weapons I can use and doesnt actually give that much of an advantage (an extra +1 to hit and +2 to damage on top of the specialisation bonus, I think; fairly negligable when you think what stratospheric boni you get from the strength girdles). Playing a ranger/paladin/barbarian/multiclass fighter forces you to choose a broader range of weapon proficiencies just to use all your points up, giving (in my experience anyway) a more versatile character capable of using much more of the cool magical equipment you'll come across for more than a momentary boost to your income :D

I hate classes with non-lasting abilities.
I always forget to use them in combat.
Except for backstabbing because it is not in a special menu
I have only used minscs beserker thing twice or so

Try a half-orc barbarian (19 str, 18 dex, 19 con). You'll be getting (12 + 5) HP per level....
You don't NEED more than ++ in weapon specialization. See, + gets you no bonuses, no penalties, ++ gets you +2 to damage and +1 to hit (or is it the other way around?) as well as an extra 1/2 attack per round, and +++ gives you +2 to hit, +2 to damage, and +1/2 attack per round. More than that gives you bonuses only to speed factor.... Pretty useless. Don't bother specializing further than +++, ever.
