It may get monotonous(I think I spelled that right...)but who thinks that instead of practically instantly getting somewhere, that you should have large country-side, wide-open areas for you party to go through, so that it is more like it would be, if you catch my drift.

You mean like in BG1 ;) I preferred that approach as (I've said before). Areas to work through, that you can explore if you want or rush straight through. Then once you have been through an area, the option to skip straight to the map you want (with a %chance of being ambushed). Much better for me than the jumping about in BG2 and being restricted unless you were givena a specific quest. Still I've gone on about this before.

I feel a mixture is necessary. In BG1 , there were far too many areas. The desigenrs were hard pressed to put in something interesting to each area, which meant that they did not focus on areas like the city of Baldur's Gate enough IMHO. But in BG2, there weren't enough areas I felt.

Fallout-style travelling would be nice for this game, methinks. Simple enough, just some minor additional area maps for random encounters, but it adds gods know how much suspense, I say.
