View Full Version : Lugging around a corpse...

Ok, so after I went back and did the Unkillable Tanner guy (and eventually did kill him the "right" way) I got the corpse of the "Inspector" off the fire in the Tanner's Ed Gein-esgue slime hole and never COULD find who I was supposed to give it to.

Considered sticking it in a grave, when I finally got around to clearing that place out, but figured I would get experience points somewhere for his rotting heap, but never did find who it belonged to, and now I am STILL lugging him around in my inventory and I am in the Underdark. So....can I just drop him someplace, for the drow to feed on, or will I EVER have the chance to actually DO something with this carcass?

Nalora
maybe I could use him for firewood down here.

here's a hint: there's someone in the government district that might very well be interested :)

PS: Dead people make good listeners you know. Don't waste him as firewood :p

Yeah, I'm sure his boss would be wondering what happened to him. You'll get some xp and possibly a rep point if you do report back with the body.

Yea I figured it was prolly the government district, and I went there right off, but never did find the ONE person who gives a hobgoblin's hiney about this heap I have been carrying around for days now.

I was just wondering if I will ever actually get BACK there from here, or will I forever be wandering from dark place to darker place with not a chance in hell (literally) of seeing the streets of that city again...

Well, Inspector Brega is the man you want to see. He's in the far back of the Government Office building. The same guy you give Neb's head to.

I dunno...I have found the Drow City to be the downfall of the game IMHO. I HATE pure "magic user" type fighting, and the game at this point is a real pain in the keester to me, no fun at all, so I am down to playing it less and less. I am now to the point where I just think: Who gives a crap about these folks...let them battle it out themselves...just let me go home and read and crochet a halberd.

home, home on the range...

I'm not sure what you mean, but if you are not to keen on magic and more on hack n' slash then know that it is possible, and has been done, to complete the game without magic users. Also, again if I am inteperting this wrong forgive me, but since Drows are so Magic Resistance, isn't it more beneficial to hack n' slash them anyway?

Also, if you do play again, know that the tanner quest can be completed in such a way that Inspector Aegisfield doesn't have to die.

I guess it is the magic throwing and resistance to magical weapons that just get on my nerves. I don't mind tossing a few magical things back and forth, but when that is the main focus of the combatants, it begins to grind a Rangers butt. Maybe it is just that you can't really see what is coming sometimes, and for me, at least (being a dunce) I have to do the battle many times before I break them.

So...the Inspector just doesn't barge in and become the Tanner's evening entree, huh? Interesting. Geeeee....was it something I said?

Don't go talk to the Inspector, get the evidence and take matters into your own hands, approach the tanner, then after the ordeal go talk to the Inspector

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh...I see said the blind man (hey! I'm a follower of the True God)

I tried that the first time, and ended up with the berzerker tanner following me and hacking away at me while I am talking to the Inspector the second time! Seems I surrounded him too fast, and his boat sailed without him....

what a nightmare.

but then....this whole drow business has me with a headache. But I did learn that I LOVE conjuring fire elementals! What great little fellas they are when they are on YOUR side.

Nalora

Yeah, there's two different endings to that one. The inspector only dies in one of them.

There are actually two people you can show the body to in the Government Building, but Inspector Brega takes it a little better than Councilwoman Bylanna. She's even funnier if you show her Neb's head. (-:

I find the drow to be rather weak. My main just smokes them. He can easily take 3 or 4 on by himself. Level 18 Monks kick ass. Course I finished all of chapter 3 before going to chapter 4 so I might be a few level ahead of most people that are in the underdark.

You know, you really don't need to do the drow thing if you don't want to. There is another way...

You could go to the upper left side of the map while in drow form. You'll find the Sahuagin (is it?) city which isn't marked on the map. There, you can get one of the items for Crom Faeyr (I think) and also find some drow there. If your charisma is high enough
you can convince them that you're going to join the war topside and they'll let you through.

NOTE: I haven't tried this yet. I got this info through my friend that said I was an idiot for going the ong way while I could do this. Somebody try this for me, will ya.

Thanx

"my friend that said I was an idiot for going the long way"

He's the idiot, ALWAYS go the long way!
Don't miss out on any of the humor/dialogs/quests/items!

Ohw, and be4 I forget: another possibility is to kill the silver dragon and take the scroll which opens the doors to the surface
