I am just a rebellious kid!! The first time I used magic in one of the districts, I received warning fm the cowled wizards. Second time, they send like 4 wizards to attack me. I have not played long enough in the game to find out what are consequences after that. Anybody has any idea??

Well I think it shouldn't be a problem (it wasn't for me), but you should pay off the cowled fool in the govt. quarter so you can cast spells without interruption.
After you pay the guy 5k you won't be bothered again.

an idea. with my level 13 avenger i summoned a bunch of fire elementals to help me out (in the docks district) and i had jan cast haste and the wizards showed up and attacked me. killed em easily enough. then i rest and do it again, repeat the process 10 times, great exp trick.

Well, you could pay off the wizards if you want to, but... After you reach a decen level (9) you can get away without casting magic in the city. Priests/druids can cast magic in the city without problems as well. Few big battles take place in the streets. Most occur in houses where it doen't matter about the wizards. Just don't be forgetfull like I was(got jumped by wizards just before entering temple slaver comound). If you feel you need to cast defensive spells before battle, just duck into a house a cast them.

I think after you you kill about 16 cowled wizard another 4 will come and there will be 2 high level mages which can cast level 9 spell and 2 normal mages. After you kill them you don't have to fight anymore mage. Cast all you want

I hate bugs like that, I have just completed the De'Arnise keep (I have started the game again) and I didn't get any quest XP whatsoever!

Yogurt, you might check your before & after xp record--you may have gotten XP but just not recieved a message in the window saying you got it. I just noticed that happening (occasionally) when I completed some of Phaere's little errands--after report the completion, a party member suddenly flashed a level up indicator (plus sign). There was NO xp point message, but when I checked the record (prior saved game) I had been credited with enough xp to level up. :)

Just a thought. :D

Oh yeah?! Well I didn't get any money. O.K., maybe a little($250). The first time I did it, I didn't even get anything, not even the keep.

Two things (which I KNOW all you regular guys know--but just in case...)
1. To complete a quest you sometimes have to report back to someone. For the D'Arnise keep, I think it's either the Major Domo guy or that bossy Noblewoman (wife?). Anyway, I think that's when you get the xp awards.

2. And, of course, to get D'Arnise as a stronghold, your main character needs to be a fighter (or monk? or barbarian?). Nalia should step up and relinquish her claim to you! :)

<Uh, sorry if this is a spoiler..it seems as if most everyone has gotten this far several times!> :)
:D

Yeah, I know. I didn't get the keep because of some messed up thinking by the Bioware folks(not enough time to explain). I don't know why I didn't get the money as I talked to all the people afterward(I think Nalia gives the rewards in this case). But I'll live as their is plenty to go around(though another $10,000+ can always help :).

The 50k is what they ask for, but they take only 5k. I payed at lvl 11 and never got to use any magic again :(. I cleared out the cementary a little later, so I guess the vamp won't be a bother any more. At the moment I have no money problems, but the lost 5k hurt just the same.

Don't you lose rep points for attacking the cowled wizards?
