Well a half-orc raised by humans would tend to have a human name. Only a half-orc raised by orcs or other half-orcs would tend to have an Orc name. Good orc names can be found in Tolkein. Or you can just combine lots of g's h's, k's and r's. Like Gharog, or Krusk. Since this is fantasy after all.

Zaghork? (I'm terrible at names.) ;)

Tolkien's creations are full of elven names, most of those in, of course, Quenta Silmarillion. Orc names are usually combinations of letters that sound hard, rude and are intended to scare the opponent.

I always liked Azog from Lord of the Rings. I think Thorin killed him when he was given the name Oakenshield IIRC...

Mirkwood

Shagrat

? I think; he was the Orc leader of the gang who capture Frodo in Lord of the Rings.

Azog... The Goblin King.
As I remember his death occured long before LotR, even before The Hobbit. Thorin killed him when he was... um... wee dwarf (courtesy of J.Jansen). I've red about the fight in the Apendix to LotR, which described the brief history of The Middle Earth.

Thug or Slag might be appropriate.

How about Guln'Son (son of the terrible Guln'Dan from Warcraft)? He remains between humans during the last war human-orcs ...
So you will have a history behind, and a frightening father ...

As you see they are all pretty much alike...Wich is best?

From the eternal band of brothers (half-orc berserker & barbarian only party setup) : I would suggest the names Gnarrf, Gnerrf, Gnorrf, Gnurrf, Gnirrf and - as main char - Ghorrff :D

otherwise I think Zampano (no insult intended towards A. Quinn) or Zorbag sounds nice for a half orc

If you want a name (for any creature) just pick up your lord of the rings book and look in the index of names and places, there is always a good name.

what about Grummsh. Its the name of an Orcish God. So playing with a god's name could be great considering You play a son of a god. This could irritate bhaal too. That You didn't choose to follow him. I hope it convinced You Melkhior :)

Nb: doh! my username isn't supported by normal coding.

Shag now or shag later?? Austin powers. Sorry. I still think You should use Grummsh. Don't You want to be a playing a god's name? Try and pronounce it. It can really sound sinister and evil.

Hmmm rule of thumb here seems to be anything that ends in "oth" or is one syllable. How about Brutus?

Here is a wonderful random name generator : http://spitfire.ausys.se/johan/names/default.htm . Although it doens't have an option for half-orcs, normal orc names I'm sure would do.

Here is a small selection :

Pourk
Ragar
Vrashnak
Rushnak
Hugdush
Ralo
Higor
Bagor
Garag
Pragdish

To make an orc name into a half-orc name, just add a human name to the end....

Garag Smith, Vrashnak Hunter ;)
