I've watched it today. It's so-so, and the reviews said it was, so I skipped it [when it came to theatres].

What I wanted to point out is the reference to "Sphere" in BG2. Has anyone else noticed that? And not the planar sphere, oh no, don't be fooled.
The circus. Aerie mentions that "the illusions become real if you believe them." The illusions themselves and the genie's "road to enlightenment." Like playing on the fears and insecurities of the PC. I don't know what happens if the PC is only fairly intelligent or outright stupid. Maybe the illusions change?
The reference seemed even more striking fifteen minutes ago, just after seeing the picture, but now is fading. Oh well, time to move on to other things...

The movie sucks, the book rocks (better than Jurrassic Park, and IIRC, the same author).

I never noticed that before, that must have felt like a moment of genius, maybe I was too distracted by how enoying Aerie was "oh my wings my poor poor wings, urrghh"... Those kind of movies really freak me out, right up there with "Event Horizon" and ..... oh yeah, "solaris"...

Frankly, I never liked Crichton (and yes, Klorox, you're recalling correctly), and just thought I'd post here because of the reference. Strange? Maybe, but I won't lose any sleep at night because of it. Maybe I'll see what happens when I play a more stupid character.
