I've played with mages and sorcerers in almost all my games :p . But I've never used this spell so I tried it yesterday. You know...nothing happened.
What went wrong? :(

The spell you cast was just the animation, it's for the ingame sequences with mages teleporting away. But aren' there different dimensiondoors? Perhaps you should look if one is described with something like phasespider because they use dimensiondoor in combat.

I believe in the Solafein (sp?) mod, he has a working version of Dimension Door. Other than that, there is no way to get this spell short of SK.

If you're a sorcerer you have the option to have it. I made the choice and now I'm very dissapointed. Maybe I can change that with the Shadowkeeper!

Sorcerers can learn dimension door in normal bg2?
I soloed with one and did not mention that. Perhaps you mean shadow door?

No no...it's not Shadow Door. I have the Soulafein MOD and a bunch of others MODS installed too...but it still doesn't work... hunf...
You can't have it in the normal BG2.

In TDD you can get Xzar, and he has it. I believe it works just fine, though I'm not sure why you'd want to use it. Not a very useful spell in BG2. TDD has other versions of this spell as innate skill for certain characters as well.

If you've got the Sola mod, give your sorcerer dimdoor.spl to get a working dimension door.

That's an innate ability, BTW.

The ones that the mages use to teleport in the game is DRYAD_TELEPORT, but I wouldn't give that to your sorc.

If you've got the Sola mod, give your sorcerer dimdoor.spl to get a working dimension door. Huh...how do I do this?

Try using SK or NI.
