I think that Minsc is more of a Berserker if anything. Besides the thought of Minsc casting SPELLS is absurd as well as Minsc HIDING in shadows. Minsc would never do that, he'd just charge. What do you think?

Besides the thought of Minsc casting SPELLS is absurd as well as Minsc HIDING in shadows. Minsc would never do that, he'd just charge. What do you think? Laksol Fri, 16th Nov '01, 5:16am Minsc actually is a ranger, his berserk rage comes from his Boo. TIN_MAN Fri, 16th Nov '01, 9:33am Yes, actually this little Boo thing provides him the berserking ability. And you're right. With Minsc's extra low wisdom(6??) he would have to have a very high spell casting failure. Will Sat, 17th Nov '01, 1:05am Well, I always thought that his well-meaning bungling would at least get him some sympathy from Silvanus and thus spellcasting abilities, even if he never concerns himself with using them too much. Im not sure if its just in TOB, but Minsc's spellcasting failure soundbite comes to mind; "I turned to shield Boo and now my spell is lost. I am NOT sorry." Heh. creudzfeldt-jakob Sat, 17th Nov '01, 3:38am Personally, I don't see much point in Minsc hiding in shadows. He'd be wearing metal armor (probably anyways :p ), and he'd view hiding as "cowardly". No spells or hiding for Minsc (and Boo :D ), just plain charging on blindly. Lord Sarevok Sun, 18th Nov '01, 12:09am That's why I think he's more of a berserker than a ranger. Brightblade Sun, 18th Nov '01, 12:49am Minsc is a ranger, this has to do with a bit of FR history. Almost all the traveling warriors that come from Rashemen er rangers that can go into a besek state. they are charrged with providing for and keeping safe their witch (Dyniher (bad sp?)). they must be able to live off the land and still provide the protection of a warrior, hence a ranger. |
