i was just wondering what your opinions on playing in multiplayer are. personally i do not do it because i think that if you are able to create five other people that aren't even supposed to exist then you are not sticking to the storyline and wrecking the point of the game.
Plus the fact that you can create the characters so that you may play with a balanced party which is also ignoring the challenge of the game.

No it's not cheating. It's legal option. Otherwise whole IWD would be cheater's corner, don't you think?

If youīre out for a challenge - create a party of six half-orc jesters, then youīll probably find the game pretty challenging again... :D

Finally BG-2 is a *game* that should be played a way that the player enjoys it - and when he like to play an all-PC party thatīs fine. And I donīt think that they are wrecking the game that way. If the do, itīs their fault. I enjoy the NPC interaction pretty much and prefer that to a totally selfmade party.

if it was cheating then why would they make it a LEGAL option?

It is not a legal option for you have to copy it from mpsave into your savegame folder. Ahem, at least some weird people may look at it that way ;) :D :p

fair enough i can see the truth in what you are saying and now i feel a lot less guilty about setting up a new game in multiplayer mode.

Just have fun! If You dont.
Then play single-player. it makes the game more colourfull too. With sidequests and all. Plus the NPC-interaction is a joy. To bad there aren't any NPC-Nobleman

One way of looking at it is - in a single player game the only person you can cheat is yourself.

My view is do whatever gives you fun in the game. My preference is to complete the game as intended but after that I might play around with things for a laugh. My next run through might well be a multiplayer party full of Slappi!

You are not far away from the the truth.
Just take a quick swim towards the sunrise and You'll find me in Denmark....

Sunrise reminds me that it is bedtime... Never can stay up as long as those fiercefull PC's.

I wonder if Gorion could teach a dwarf-maincharacter for 24 hours without any minusses... Back there in candlekeep waaaay back in the youth.

All right you two, this is not the chatroom, and your latest conversation has very little to do with BG2 and whether multiplayer is cheating or not...

I am truly sorry, Blackthorne TA, that I offended this forum.
It was just the joy of the moment that caught me.
I hope peace will be restored. And Minsc gets my apologies
