No, it's just his specialty. Inquisitors trade Turning, Lay on Hands, and priest spells for the innate castings of True Sight and Dispel Magic which, if you ask me, are far more useful for a warrior than all three of those combined.

They are more useful. I played my first game as an inquisitor and I kicked butt. I didnt need lay on hands with all the potions and healing spells I had access to. Even if I had had it I probably wouldn't have paid too much attention to it.
