I would like to see many more usable races in Baulder's Gate. I understand that it has to go through D&D rules first but anyway any new ideas for a race?

I can remember some sort of race called Solarii, when I played Majesty a time ago.
They seemed to be some kind of tanned, rather small humans mastered in slaying undeads with blunt weapons and a weird kind of magic.
Mmmh, when I think of it...seems we know this kind better as a certain class: the Cleric, to be exact.
But still...there was something racial about them.

I'd like to see different sorts of elves: Drow, Valley, Gray, Wild and High.

Maybe Solars or Plantars.

In an old Dragon Magazine they had rules for half-ogers...they were great!

That would be great to have those playable characters wouldn't it?:)

Maybe you could download them one day.One day.

They are the sworn enemies of the githyanki.

Whereas the githyanki are warlike and aggressive, the githzerai are reserved and quiet. Their home plane is Limbo, which explains their absence from the Baldur's Gate series (to my knowledge, only githyanki made it in, but I'm only about halfway through SoA so I may be wrong). They can shape the chaos matter of Limbo with their minds, and several githzerai specifically trained for this purpose (known as Anarchs) working together can create and maintain cities.

Buy Planescape Torment for more information about them and everything else planar.

Lizards-There are many dewellings for these that live in sea, on earth and underground. It is rumoured some even fly. Because of their past differences with other races and their fiercesome look Lizards receive -3 to reaction, except in the cases of half orcs who they receive a +1 reation.

str: +3
dex: +1
con: +1
int: -1
wis: 0 modifercation
cha: -3
racial enemies: dwarves, Gnomes are attacked on site
no resistances
can only be Neutral or Evil Alignment
Cannot be Kensai, or any non-lizard cleric kit

I would like to play as githyanki or mind flayer. It doesn't fit the role tho. Imoen (also a child of bhaal) is human and so should you...

Are there any orcs in FR? Orcs would be cool...

Where do you think half-orcs come from? :D
One of the most common monsters in FR are orcs.

Alright this has always confused me. How can the PC be a half-orc (or half elf, for that matter) if his/her father is Bhaal?

The only way I can think of for a half orcish PC, is if the PC's mother is a half-orc (or half-elf). BUT, that would make the PC 1/2 god, and 1/4 orc/human. Hardly seems like a half orc to me.

Alienboy - Errrr that looks like one helluva unbalanced race. A +3 strength bonus is pretty obscene, and the penalty of -3 charisma is meaningless considering how small a role it plays in the game (and the ring of human influence, of course).

Its hell unbalanced and mainly for evil people. (Me through and through.:))
The -3 charisma is for people to guard there actions more. With attacking Gnomes and Dwarves peole are going to be low rep most of the time. Things cost more and makes the game harder.

Thanks for the info, but try not to mention TOB Lord Savervok. You might get introuble.:)

Didn't Bhaal turn himself into another creature or posess one first? I hear [ToB spoiler edited out].

Anyone agree with me that Half-Orcs probably are Orog-Hai? Well, in their race, not in their abilities, looks etc

Human is the best race anyway...

Yeah, i wouldn't mind playing powerful races from the D&D forgetton realms book.

Ie,

the drow:
+2 dex
-2 con
+2 intelligence
+2 charisma

some planetouched races

aasimar:
+2 wis
+2 char
(hrm, can i say perfect paladin/priest race??!?!)

Air Genasi:
+2 dex
+2 intelligence
-2 wisdom
-2 charisma

Earth Genasi:
+2 strength
+2 constitution
-2 wisdom
-2 charisma

Fire Genasi:
+2 int
-2 charisma

Water Genasi:
+2 con
-2 Charisma

And lastly tiefling!

+2 dex
+2 int
-2 char

....

ALl these races come with innate abilities but i'm to lazy to list them. woot However, they level up slower for game balance.
