There are many ways to kill kangaxx. Everyone has various tactics to defeat him, some cheezy and some not. Best to do a search for kangaxx threads on this forum, rather than listing them all again.

Maybe if you would describe what party or solo character are you using and what level...

By the way this forum is full of tactics against Kangaxx try the "search" function.

My favourite solution is to buy a Protection from Magic scroll (Wauken Promenade), grab the Staff of Magi and simply kill that poor lich. Do you know that a +4 weapon or better needed to harm Kangaxx?

There are a few truly cheesy tactics to kill Kangax. Mace of Disruption +2 actually has a +5 enhancement, meaning to can hit Kangax. Azure Edge is +3, but both its special ability and that of the MOD +2 will work regardless of the "weapon ineffective". This means you can kill him with a single hit using either weapon. VERY cheesy though :)

As others have said, do a quick search and you'll get a LOT of tactics.

what you need? - spells and one rest to memorize

F/M/T: 3rd lvl: Melfs meteors(enhancement +6/ 5 attacks per round); haste
5th lvl: Spell immunity: abjuration (against imprison from demi-lich)
6th lvl: Impr. haste

...and if you feel cheesy-> use traps on the lich-form (place in front of the coffin)

I love potting him into traps with the ring of ram.

Set all the traps out of sight of his 1st incarnation then when he becomes demi-lich just ram him into the traps... ha ha ha ;)

Traps in general are a bit cheesy... but given that you've faced two identical situations already it is sort of ok to place them. The fact that you place them away from where the 1st incarnation appears is a bit of a cheese... but demi-liches are a bit cheesy. I remember 1st time in P-n-P it destroyed whole party, we had no idea what it was immune to. It does take time, that you don't have, to work out +3 weapons, and 99% of all spells have no effect whatsoever.
