Get youre clerics to fire up on flame strike and use it all the time.(each one can do about 80 damage.)By the way I think tha the slayer is a frost creature so use lots of fire on it.

Different techniques possible.

1. Occupy demons with summoned creatures and walk out of sight so they don't follow you.
2. Go after demons first and kill the slayer later.

As for the slayer, you might want to save those breaches for after he teleports, because in the beginning you can hardly hit him. When he has teleported use true sight, maybe oracle or detect illusions and then throw all the breaches and warding whips at him (warding whip is a far more powerful spell so use it if you can). Next it should be pretty easy to smash him to bits. As for the defensive aspect cast spells like chaotic commands and remove fear on your melee fighter who will be bringing him down.

It's important to remember that Khelben's Warding Whip does not remove Spell Trap. You need Ruby Ray of Reversal (7th), Pierce Shield (8th) or Spellstrike (9th) for that.

Also Khelben's Warding Whip does not remove the following (you need Breach for these):
Absolute Immunity
Improved Mantle
Mantle
Prot f Magical Weapons
Stoneskin
etc.
I have the feeling that Khelben's Warding Whip is often overestimated. Ruby Ray is faster to cast and takes down the fearsome Spelltrap.

Dont underestimate using spells that create lots of little monsters, the slayer can kill almost anything you summan in 1 or 2 hits, but 5 little monsters will take 5 attacks, thats 5 attacks he isnt hitting your main melee fighter.

Uhhh. Death spell is an area effect spell. Plus, it shouldn't do anything to your melee fighter types, if you are at the final boss...

No Sol'Kanar, the purpose of Death Spell is to get rid of all summoned monsters. It's just one of several ways in which a pack of (rather minor) summoned monsters can be eliminated quickly.

I've heard that polymorphing your mage into a mindflayer and sucking his brains out works pretty good

I have tried the shapeshift mind flayer and it works. The Slayer's MR is 50%, so 2 LRs should work well. Don't bother with death magic on him. Throw all your fighters against his demons one at a time. Since the slayer teleports as the first action, you don't need to worry about him until the end. The illusion of him can be removed with true sight. I usually find that a melee bash works just fine against him.
