View Full Version : If you could be...
Mistyca Wed, 27th Jun '01, 11:44am ...a character of BG, who would you be. I mean, race, class, proficiencies....
I'd go with a human sorcerer with my robe of vecna, ring of wizardry and ring of gaxx, staff of magi, amulet of power, a belt raising strenght. Not so bad....
Melkhior Wed, 27th Jun '01, 12:06pm I´d be my beer loving, beast hating, red haired - dwarf!! He´s a berserker and strong as hell..
Honestly, I can say that I think that Dwarfs are the coolest race in fantasy. Elves are thin little wimps :D
antoine Wed, 27th Jun '01, 3:50pm Elves rule and are the coolest race of Faerun. Well, an elven ranger maybe
What is the robe of vecna and where can you find it? (did I ask this before?? I can't remember)
Vicsun Wed, 27th Jun '01, 4:00pm I would probably be a monk ;). Thinking that they are overpowered and all. I would also use a big and get Keldorn's Armour ;)
Oh and the Robe of Vecna - Bonus Merchants, the one in Ribald's Store.
Extremist Wed, 27th Jun '01, 5:10pm I would be as I said number of times: fighter/mage/thief. Items? Whatever Mystra sends me - I'll always beat you all up just with that. Or without that. :p
Headbanger Wed, 27th Jun '01, 5:25pm I would be an Elven ranger with long sword and Long Bow our maybe a thief.
Ironbeard Wed, 27th Jun '01, 7:57pm I would have to be a random Dwarven commoner - the kind that can't say anything other than "by moradin's hammer", "I need a swig o' some strong dwarven ale" and "me temper's bad enough wi'out ye botherin' me". Maybe Cromwell's missing apprentice. hmmm could be a quest in there...
zero Wed, 27th Jun '01, 10:24pm I would be a human Cavalier with Calastial Fury so when stun efect a Demon I split on him.
Orkrist the Cleaver Wed, 27th Jun '01, 11:05pm We've answered this question many times but its such a cool question so thats cool. I would probably be a Priest somewhere in the Temple district. Probably just walking around and shopping for books and carrying a cool Mace or Flail.

ayecapitan Thu, 28th Jun '01, 5:10am I'd be a human rogue (prolly swashbuckler), with a dagger +1 in each hand, a green cloak with red stripes, no armor and a big yellow blink dog at my side
Sir Belisarius Thu, 28th Jun '01, 5:14am I'd be a Cavalier or a Skald.
Mirkwood Thu, 28th Jun '01, 5:55am A fat merchant; living in luxury in a grand estate in the Goverment district paid for by buying valuable items from stupid adventurers for a pittance and then selling them with a 1000% markup.
Lokken Thu, 28th Jun '01, 6:10am a mage no doubt, mind over matter fits me like a charm :)
Shadow Assassin Thu, 28th Jun '01, 4:45pm I'd be a Mage/thief with high level hide in shadows, invisibility, and polymorph, along with those charm spells, just think of the possibilities.
[i]The Nomad[/i] Thu, 28th Jun '01, 4:54pm I know I am twisting the topic a bit, But If I should choose which character from BG2 i would be, I would go for Minsc. Not too much to think of and I like the forrest life. plus it is obvious that his tatoo attracts women.
A plain answer would be a Elven ranger in leather armor, with a club or staff of some kind nothing fancy, just keeping a little village safe I like the idea of a long healthy life. Perhaps settle down in Umar :)

Mathetais Thu, 28th Jun '01, 5:29pm I'd be a Dual Class Fighter/Cleric.
Alignmnet: Lawful Good
Race: Human
Weapons: Dual Weild Katana & War Hammer (you can guess which ones I'd pick from BG2 :D) (I think a dc f/c can still use edged weapons)
Nope - can't use Katana anymore (you'd think they would say something about that in the rules. . . )
So, I guess I would wield Crom Fayr & the Flail of Ages.
If you let me jump into a 3rd Edition World, I would be a Gray Elf Paladin/Cleric weilding a holy avenger sword.

Alex Thu, 28th Jun '01, 5:30pm Torn between two choices....
1. Paladin/Cavalier -
2. Chaotic Neutral
Addendum:
Sorry for all the Throne of Bhall references, I just beat it this morning. DAMN its awesome!
[This message has been edited by Alex (edited June 28, 2001).]
***What ToB references? I don't see any!!***

Mathetais Thu, 28th Jun '01, 7:48pm Alex - Welcome to "Spoiler-ville".
Now that I know that:
**SPOILER**
My copy of TOB is arriving from Amazon today, but you just sucked the fun right out of it! ;) :p
Dragons! Avenge me!!!!
[This message has been edited by Darien Noella (edited July 01, 2001).]
Mathetais Thu, 28th Jun '01, 8:11pm DRAGONS ?!?!
Alex the Grim Spoiler is slowly shredding the last remnants of joy left in my otherwise painful life!
STOP IT, please before I find out what the Circlet of Nincompoop does and how it can turn all Watchers into ants and step on them!!!
The Nomad Thu, 28th Jun '01, 11:00pm You are very naughty Alex. I like to spend my sparse sparetime from the army with BG2. Don't put those things up my nose. I was already deep in your "spoiler" when I found out what I was reading. And Then You do it again... Give me twenty sonny :p
Alex Fri, 29th Jun '01, 5:15am Sure. Give me your credit card number and SSN and ill get right on that. :)
Mathetais Fri, 29th Jun '01, 3:24pm pssst. . . Alex. I don't think Nomad is talking about $20! Go watch a few episodes of Boot Camp or the movie "Full Metal Jacket" and then you'll get the idea.
***SPOILER***
It's a push-up!
NOW FOR PAYBACK
****
Mathetais the Paladin draws his +6/+12 vs Chaotic evil spoiler-demon Holy Avenger sword, and stalks towards Alex.
"You have strayed from the path of righteousness!" the knight delcares. With a flash of light the sword slices through the air and removes Alex's left pinky finger.
"Let that be a lesson to you. Now you will never be able to type "A, Q or Z! and shift is going to be a pain!"
:p :p :p
Alex Fri, 29th Jun '01, 5:12pm Never heard of boot camp, seen full metal jacket, a damn good movie btw, and yes i know im just being dumb.
And for some more stupidity!
The great Sir Mazrim Damodred (figure out that blatant rip off!) unsheathes his +12/+24 vs Lawful Good weilding Chaotic evil spoiler-demon Holy Avenger sword!!!! And with a brilliant flash lobs off Matetias's left nut!!! Let that be a lesson to YOU! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
(couple more posts like this and well surely have closed down this thread!)
Mathetais Fri, 29th Jun '01, 5:24pm Fortunately my +6 cup of regeneration should be able to handle the wound . . . :p
And yes, I figured you were joking, just couldn't resist giving you a hard time.
'nuf said!
shadowboxer Fri, 29th Jun '01, 8:21pm I'd be MASTER OF THE UNIVERSE, Kickyass, the dwarven fighter that everyone loves
Shadow Assassin Sat, 30th Jun '01, 9:35am *notes the large amount of stupidity emenating from the forum, sees the culprits and pulls out his ... long dramatic pause ... notepad and issues each of you a citation*
Gopher thighs Sat, 30th Jun '01, 9:22pm I'd go for anyone who can cast "Call woodland beings" so I can summon a nymph anytime I want
Alex Sat, 30th Jun '01, 9:52pm Now there is a good idea!! Just be sure to have a low death save. :)
The Grim Ripper Sun, 1st Jul '01, 12:56pm I would be my 20 charisma, 18 reputation, level 17 blue Sorcer!
it has my name in the game so i can really act out the part...
[edited to cut out stupid mistakes]

Darien Noella Sun, 1st Jul '01, 6:02pm Alex posted: "(couple more posts like this and well surely have closed down this thread!)"
A couple more posts like that and we close down your account. How's that sound?
Get it through your head that Tal opened a new forum because he wanted to have ToB separated, and so does practically everyone else who doesn't have ToB yet. If you have ToB stuff to post, go to the ToB forum. You can't combine ToB and BG2 here, it's either BG2 ONLY or nothing.
Kerric Tue, 3rd Jul '01, 10:42am I would be like my current D&D3E character, Human, Chaotic Neutral, Pyromanic, Psycho, sorcerer.
[This message has been edited by Kerric (edited July 03, 2001).]
Shrike00 Tue, 3rd Jul '01, 3:57pm I want to be a cleric ....
or maybe a mage. No, a thief, yeah that's it a thief.
Wait a minute .... a fighter sure is cool. Maybe I could be a rnager/paladin multi-class.
I can't decide. I guess I just gotta be me.
kevlar0101 Tue, 3rd Jul '01, 4:03pm I would do the unpossible, being a conjuring kensai cleric of Kevlar :p with a monkisch attitude :D ;)
Tiamat Tue, 17th Jul '01, 9:40pm My elven sorcerer. Hmm. If I'm too normal to have "the blood of some powerful creature flowing through my veins", I'd be an elven mage. Or fighter-mage.
The Deviant Mage Tue, 17th Jul '01, 10:09pm I'd be an elven mage. I could enjoy living for a few centuries. And how could I not want to actually cast spells? (No way I'd be sorcerer...it's hard enough to choose their spells as is: "Damn...maybe Aganazzar's Scorcher isn't as practical a spell in my day-to-day life as I initially thought.")
Fizban Wed, 18th Jul '01, 2:06am Question : At the beginning you said ring of wizardry, for a sorceer, I don't think that gives you extra spells, but I could be mistaken. Can someone tell me if I am right or wrong?
The Deviant Mage Wed, 18th Jul '01, 2:32am You are wrong. You do get more.
Kitiara Wed, 18th Jul '01, 4:05am I would be an extremly rare Redhaired Elven Fighter/Mage.
I would definately have Elven Armor(so i can cast my deadly spells), longbow +3, Sword of Roses, and Boots of speed.
I would also have as my trusty side kick, Mathetais the cleric.. *giggle*
Memosarks Wed, 18th Jul '01, 7:14am I would be a half-elf jester, with the wacky jester's armour, so I can take over the theatre and finally become a star...... :)
TIN_MAN Wed, 18th Jul '01, 8:05am I would be Moadíb, the powerful human sorcerer. Don't care about the proficencies; he would be a master of summoning, necromancy and misleading, not to mention his powerful evocation spells. If I were him, I would be a real force upon Faerún.
Ragusa Wed, 18th Jul '01, 10:46am On this board I would definitely be a halfling cavalier wielding a flaming holy avenger longsword +5, +12 vs. spamming idiots (who suffer a -10 penalty on their savingthrows vs. the weapon effects silence/ deafness/ ray of enfeeblement)
Considering my gamestyle I'd be a halfelven fighter-mage-thief or halfling fighter-thief - both with good lore & stealth - wearing elven chain and using a dagger+4, longsword +3 and a shortbow +3.
[This message has been edited by Ragusa (edited July 18, 2001).]
Alex Wed, 18th Jul '01, 12:07pm You and your halfling cavaliers again!!! RARGHHH!!!!!  :D
No!!! Not the flaming holy avenger longsword +5, +12 vs. spamming idiots!!! FOR THE LOVE OF HELM NOOO!!!! AIEEE!!!!!
:D :D :D
Happy hundreth post to me! :)
[This message has been edited by Alex (edited July 18, 2001).]
Baldak Oakfist Wed, 18th Jul '01, 1:27pm Dual-Class Fighter/Mage with Robe of Vecna, Amulet of power, Ring of Gaxx, Ring of Acuity, Girdle of Hill Giant Strength, Sling of Seeking +2(Strength bonuses are added with this sling), Helm of Balduran, Boots of Speed, Celestial Fury, and either Shield of Harmony or Dragon Scale Shield.
Mathetais Wed, 18th Jul '01, 7:50pm I could not think of a life more pleasurable than being Kitiara's clerical sidekick!
I would be the Gabriel to her Xena, the Robin to her Batman . . . (you get the point)
Kitiara - my faith and hammer are at your bidding!
[This message has been edited by Mathetais (edited July 19, 2001).]
Shralp Wed, 18th Jul '01, 8:32pm I would be my old P&P character, Toke. Toke was a mage (a New Mage actually, but that ain't in BG2) with a bit of a reefer problem. He created a spell requiring pot as a component just so he could "conjure spell component" and get some any time he wanted.
He tried to get a whole village to light up with him (they thought he was a god 'cause he flew into town instead of walking), but the do-gooder fighter by his side wouldn't let him.
(No, I'm not a pot-head. Just thought the character would be funny.)
Horus Wed, 18th Jul '01, 10:57pm I think I'd be a ranger, nothing else matters, that would be my life... :)
NAZAR Fri, 20th Jul '01, 2:55pm I would be and Undead Hunter with Pride of The Legion +2 Armour and my Carsomyr +5 Sword and My Glorius Dragon Helmet. Oh Yeah and a Whole lot O Vampire Stakes.
NAZAR 17th Level
Raistlin Majere Thu, 26th Jul '01, 11:39pm i would be a powerful war mage with just a mage staff and a trusty dagger (wizards last defence of course). i would hire out to the highest bidder and kick the other sides asses!
Oricalcum Fri, 27th Jul '01, 3:10am I would be the Kensai man! If anyone gives me sass, Id put my katana between their legs and ask if they like kids. Im fond of the swashbuckler too, basically anyone who uses swords with "style".
DemoGorgon Fri, 27th Jul '01, 3:18am I would definetly have to be a sorcerer too man. Probly elven with the robe of vecna and staff of magi. ring of protection, ring of ram, girdle of hill giant strenth, boots of gargoyle (ToB only?) and thats about it
Capstone Fri, 27th Jul '01, 5:31pm I would probably be a gnome cleric/illusionist, neutral good. Not the mightiest character in the realms and no desire to be, but a good source of help in times of trouble. Getting me back down to earth might be a problem though, as I'd probably be the typical absent-minded wizard.
Marmeille Tue, 31st Jul '01, 9:44am I would be a bard (no kit), wearing the Melodic chain mail +3 and my weapon would be the Dak'kon's Zerth Blade (katana +2) for the extra 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th level mage spell as well as the +1 AC bonus. I would have 2 harps ready for use, the Discord and Pendemonium ones along with the Horn of Silence. My familiar would be a cat, because I'm a chaotic neutral kind of person and I would have to wear the boots of Speed to try and catch him when he's chasing after rats, rabbits, kobolds and the occasional griffin, alongside Jan, of course!
garathorn Wed, 1st Aug '01, 5:26am id just have to go with drizzt he RULZ!
