According to the FAQ at http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/BG2/bg2faq.htm, rangers can have pets. The FAQ says: "Yes, we have permitted wizards to have familiars, such as Imps, and rangers may have animal companions.". SO my question is this, How does a ranger get a pet?

If you haven't tried it yet, give Find Familiar a shot, that is if your Ranger is your own character.

I tried using the find famlair spell...no luck. I have heard 'rumors' once you finish all of the Ulmar Hills quests (after a couple of days you go back and they have a new quest for you, being a ranger), after the 3rd one you get a pet...or something like a pet....I'm waiting for the 2nd quest. I'll keep everyone posted :)

Oh yeah!!! In fact, I know what it is and hopefully, no one spoils it for you. It's actually, very hyped.
