I have yet to find any real big battle I can beat and as usual my "odd" way of thinking/problem solving has once again brought out every "gee we didn't think of that" bug in the game, so I have to reload and redo all the time just to work around the bugs caused by my unconventional methods of gameplay.

So, guess it was a good thing I am a "book collector" in real life, and a book collecting Ranger with a cabin in the woods in the computer game because if you need me, I will be out there swilling down beer and reading books because there ain't crap I can do in town, let them all die.

Can't even go to hell in a handbasket. (read: where the HELL is the "demonic plane" in the planar sphere, anyway? The "walkthrough" doesn't say how you get there....)

If you're trying to get the demon heart for the planar sphere quest then all you need to do is walk out the entrance (where you came in) and you'll find yourself in the abyss (or similar place).

BTW, in case you're wondering when you first enter the sphere you can get to a room on the right hand side which has a map showing the slums, which is where the sphere currently is. When you active the sphere so you can go further inside, it travels to the abyss (helpful given you need a demon heart later on) and if you go back and have a look at the map you'll see the map area for the abyss showing you that the sphere has moved.

Hope that helps.

Duh! When in doubt LEAVE. hehe. I was convinced I was just stuck there like the freaking portal at the theatre!

Thanks ever so for helping a neophyte wanderer in this new fangled gaming world! Really!

Of course this leaves me with the problem I made for myself when I could not figure out how to actually KILL the stone golems....I just had them chase me to the beginning of the area (the entrance area you mention) and then shut the door. Now I have to fight all of them, all at once. Holy cripes.

sitting in the Ranger Cabin reading while the rest of the party complains of being bored.

What characters do you have and what weapons are they equipped with? Can't really help you with advice without more information.

Also depends what level your party is at. Stone golems are not too tough and you should be able to handle quite a few of them if you have two good tanks.

My party consists of:

Me, Ranger, Level 11
Minsc, Ranger Level 11
Jaheira, Level 10/12
Yoshimo Level 14
Nalia Level 12
Valygar Level 9

I have all kinds of arrows, good bows and I have Dragonslayer and Lilarcor equipped, and have a couple others in my pack. I have one scroll case filled with spells (that Nalia already knows) I also have both the Horns and the dog statue.

My stats are mediocre:

S 18
D 14
C 15
I 15
W 20
C 12

Lore is 31
Base Thaco is 9
Thaco is 2
AC is -2
I am Long Bow ++

Dunno if that helps or not.

Killing golems is generally a function of weaponry for me. I know I can hit stone golems with +3 weapons, though I think I remember hitting them with +1's occasionally. I know I can hit clay golems with +1 blunt weapons. I absolutely remember hitting adamantite golems with the cursed berserker two-handed sword.

But, the most effective weapon I have foudn to kill any golems are Melf's Magic Meteors. Period. End of combat.

Thanks very much! I found NOTHING I had EXCEPT those "sunstone bullets" did anything to the Golems in the Planar Sphere. Well, except the big steel/iron ones or whatever they were (the ones you could trap in a doorway because they were so tall. I could kill them pretty easily by just having Minsc go up and whack hell on them for a short bit. They could not even punch me because they were stuck in the door.

Anyway, I finally made it to Level 12! woo hoo!

Thanks again.

I did the door trap for the Adamantite golem in the Windspear hills... it was fun. I usually survive anything, because I have a cheat character in my party, who can kick some serious behind with dual-wield... Anyone guess?
