I'm currently doing the firkraag's dungeon quest in Windspear Hills, and when I finally get the sword and shield from the tomb in the maze on level 2, I get attacked by Samia and her party. Everything is ok, exept that I can't damage Kaol (the wizard), and after like 15 seconds he casts death spell , I die and have to restart. Someone please help me I've restarted like 15 times now... :( :( :(

Depending on your level you could use a cleric to cast Death Ward on some characters. That mage must have some funky protections -- use your Wizard to Breach them after having him or someone else capable use True Seeing to dispel his invisibility. Other spells that might come in hany are Remove Magic, Secret word, Pierce Magic, and that really good Druid one, insect swarm and it's brothers. I guess it all depends on your party composition. If you don't like cheese you could have a paladin cast detect evil on Samia, and on the basis of the result summon bails of help before taking her on. If you're evil, you could do a pre-emptive attack or backstab on her just because she's ugly. :D

You could just take a thief and backstab the bastardo before the battle ;)

err... I forgot about one thing- I can't backstab because nalia lost all her thief abilities- does this have anything to do with energy drain? Also she can cast only lvl 1 spells. If so, how do you fix it?

If it's Energy Drain you should use (lesser) Restoration.

I would suggest you took on a few easier quests before attempting the Firkraag mission. If you cant even save against Death Spell, then Conster will likely beat you up easy, and even beginning to put any kind of fight up against Firkraag would be impossible.

Try the De'Arnise Hold and the Trademeet missions first, get some more lvl's under your belt. The Firkraag mission is one of the hardest imo.

I always took Kaol down with insect spell. It should works well for you too.
Slightly :yot:
firkraag is not really that difficult, as he is a fire-based dragon. Anyway, I alway make sure that someone in my party can cast gate, and since pit fiend is imune against fire and it seems that only firkraag's wind buffet can injure it, it will take quite sometime for firkraag to kill it. All the while, your wizard can cast spells from afar.(there was once when I had to reload 2 times, because the pit fiend was the one who deal the finishing blow, taking away all the exp points.)

Gate?? Geez, how long are you waiting to do this quest? That's a 7th level priest/9th level mage spell and if you're waiting that long, you don't need it to take out that pitiful mage or Firkraag.

Yes, somewhere along the way, Nalia was level drained. Lesser Restoration, as Nomad pointed out, will put everything back the way it was. If you don't have the spell on you, you can go to just about any temple and have it cast on her. I think most temples will also sell restoration scrolls.

For me, Firkraag wasn't all that hard. While scouring the caverns prior to encountering him, you can get some things that will help you defeat him and any other dragon. Those will help out tremendously.

I used Viconia to cast gate. Always save her as soon as possible, so that she can Lv up faster. I must admit that I am not a creative or cunning child of Bhaal, after I found one safe way to kill some hard foes, I will almost always stick to that way until my party's characters have change to different main character or different npcs.

Put traps where they will appear...

Fire in some cloud kill, and close the door...

Dispel their magic...inquisitors quite good in it.

Cast invisibility and wait until their spells fades away...

Summon anything and let him to attack them first. You should perform a tactical flee...
