After you have killed jaheira and got the books, i went to the monk in the docks district and i still don't know what to do.

My understanding is that you need to take Jaheira's body and Bodhi's Black Heart to the Temple Ruins near the Umar Hills and place them in the arms of the statue across the Indiana Jones style trapped floor with the letters.

How did you get from the monk to the temple? The elves were supposed to help me, according to my journal, but they didn't. What clue did I miss along the way?
