Well, afaIk at the end of Baldur's Gate Saga you and your companions are somewhere 33-37 level almost god-like in there powers...
But my point is: who are the characters who'll live quite a long life like humans e.g. I know. Elves and dwarves and half-elves are living long life but what about the humans in the party? What about you, Sarevok, Imoen, and even Minsc, supposingly that you have passed the game with them (and I will)? Will they live more, because they are nearly god-like...

And my overall question is: do characters, especially in Forgotten Realms have a long life if they are high levelled and very powerful indeed.

They live according to their races ages - levels don't affect life span, unless you fight monsters :square:

Well, the player character and Sarevok at least are half-god, so they'll be around a while.

As far as regular humans went when I played tabletop D&D, the easiest way around race rules was having someone cast polymorph other on you to turn you into an elf, half-elf, half-kobold-dragon, whatever... rest easy.

Depending on the character class of course. You'll live as a powerful being even as an older person, according to the age of your race of course. No addition to that. And as far as Sarevok's and [Charname] go, they've no ounce of a god in them naturally. Unless you become a God of course, which is obvious. Yet, should you be a mage, obviously with your to-be-level you could easily find a way to expand your lifespan enough to effectively make you a mortal. As you're nearly as powerful as Elminster in the end. Or even more so. Then again, Elminster didn't have silverfire at the time of BG2 and expansions yet, I believe.
