The first and second fights with Irenicus were no brainers but I can't seem to kill him this time. By the time I kill all his little pet demons I'm half dead, and I can't seem to kill him, he just keep rejenerating and I never get any damage in on him. Meanwhile, he's slaughtering my entire party. HELP! :aaa:

Use Protection from Evil 10 feet radius on your party. Then start whacking at Irenicus, and the demons'll whack him.

Hi,

Take out the demons first. If you get beaten up use some extra healing potions on your characters, have them in a quick slot for each character before going for Irenicus.

Irenicus should teleport around a bit, sometimes out of sight, that can be another oportunity to drink some potions and cast protections before reengaging.
Find him and beat on him with everything you have. I actually found this fight much easier than the second one.

Prot from evil didn't work for me, the demons still attacked. No idea why that was.

Yeah, Protection from Evil won't stop the demons from attacking, (I guess because the demons are just *there*, no summoning. Like the tanar'ri in the Planar Prison.) but it should help anyways, saves and the like.

Kill the demons first. Irenicus, as I recall, wlil mainly keep his protections up...well, that and cast annoying Symbol: Stun and Symbol: Fear spells, but nothing directly nasty. Probably why this battle seemed easier than the last.

Especially since if he Stuns or Fears the party and then teleports away, he'll a) waste his combat spells on anyone that runs by in a panic. and b) waste his protection spells so that you can c) beat the crap out of him when you get control of your party back. :)

But be careful. He can still do siginificant amounts of physical damage, being the Slayer and all. :)

For every battle with Irenicus I used limited whish and silenced everyone. Of course, you should have already cast breach, lower resistance and all your own protection magics before you do this, but it keeps Irenicus from casting his own spells, which is his strength.
Other than that have summoned monsters against the demons, and use your party to concentrate on Irenicus' slayer.

Thanks for the help guys! I also wanted to add that this is a perfect oppourtunity to turn into the slayer yourself! :evil: :evil: :evil: Just remember to not stay as it for two long. I easily killed all of the demons this way but I think there is something wrong with Irenicus; he seems to never die although he takes massive amount of damage. The same thing happened with me before with Bohdi the first AND second time around. Oh well, I'll just reload and try it again. :cry:

Try lowering his resistance and casting feeblemind, that way he won't do anything so you can see if it is possible for you to kill him or not

The first time I ever fought him the battle was over in less than a minute. I just made my Inquisitor dispel his pertections and he went down before I knew what was happening. It was so easy it made me mad. I didn't have the game on easy either. It was on core rules. Maby the demons defected to my side?

If he is taking what seems to be a massive amount of damage, then test to se if it is a bug by enabling the cheat keys and ctrl-y ing him. it does betewwn 898-1189 damge to him and if he soenst die, give up. not that i recommend cheating unless you want to ruin the game or test for a specic bug that is giving oyu trouble.

brightblade, you don't need cheating, just feeblemind... The effect is permanent, and he can't do ANYTHING anymore

unless he saves.

just remember that the real irenicus teleports away to the bottom left of the area you are in, so protect everyone from fear and confusion so they don't go runny over there. then whammy on the demons, THEN cast any healing spells you have on anyone who is hurt - if they die there and you don't raise them in time to pick up their items then you lose them! - then go get the real slayer irenicus, and watch out that you are attacking him and not a projected image
