View Full Version : Message Says: Adventurers Mart is Restocked Once During the Game. Check Back Later.
kasio Tue, 8th May '01, 1:13pm When Saving/Loading game message says: Adventurers Mart is restocked once during the game back later.
When exactly is this "later"? Is there any trigger for that? Or should i buy AM out of stock?
IronEagle Tue, 8th May '01, 1:25pm Later is LONG after you you have gone through the chapters of the game, almost the last chapter, you will know it when ya get there.
Ragusa Tue, 8th May '01, 1:28pm I thinkt that´s almost too late for you´d need it when you goo to underdark. And after going there, you will have found so many cool stuff that you can get along with it quite well for the rest of the game ...
Just like this neat elven stuff in Sulandessalar ... you simply don´t need it for the final fights.
kasio Tue, 8th May '01, 1:43pm But maybe when you import your char in NWN your equipment will remain?
BTW what was exp cap in BG1?
[This message has been edited by kasio (edited May 08, 2001).]
Igneous Tue, 8th May '01, 1:52pm The exp cap in Bg1 is the amount of exp you begin with in Bg2. As far as I can remember that is 89.000. Always thought that was not enough... But if you have played Tales of the Sword Coast, you can get to 161.000 I believe.
TIN_MAN Tue, 8th May '01, 2:01pm It will be restocked, after you leave the Underdark with your party. Though the items in it are mostly worse than your gear when you leave the Underdark. I never bought anything from the Adventurer's Markt speacial items. They're ****, I say(mostly)
[This message has been edited by TIN_MAN (edited May 08, 2001).]
Lareth Amunjo Tue, 8th May '01, 2:18pm There are some items you should buy. Especially protecton from magic scrolls. They make demi-Lich quite easy...
kasio Tue, 8th May '01, 2:19pm 89K??????
Cant be so little!!! For dual classed character it would be... 4th/4th level!!!
You mean 890K maybe?
Because it just dishonest:
A guy takes his party through BG1, practices, gains exp, wastes time... Imports a character and gets the same if he would just created new char!
Cant beleive this. This is stupid.
Right would be:
n - exp you start with in BG 2
n*1.4 - exp cap in BG 1
In such case dedicated players would have a rightful advantage. (They would be tougher in the beginning but not enough to mess a balance)
Eg BG2 experience cap is about 2.9 mln. so according to Kasios rule your NEW character should start NWN with experience of 2.07 mln.
BUT if you imported your BG2 char you would start with 2.9.
Thats a pleasant (not balance breaking i asure you) reward for playing BG2.
Viking Tue, 8th May '01, 2:57pm BG1 cap was 89000. Reason I think was to level out mages before they became too powerfull. (90k for next level).
The cap itself is not a problem as it is merely a matter of game balance.
Sure, can't cast high level spells, but TBH I think Fireball and Haste takes care of most of your needs.
Taluntain Tue, 8th May '01, 10:32pm BG - cap at 89k
BG+TOSC - cap at 161k
As for NWN, the XP logically won't transfer. It's silly how literally people take that marketing stunt. Importing any sort of character from BG2 or BG to NWN will look the same (or 95% same) as creating a new one. NWN is a 3rd edition game, so all the rules are different. All stats are different. There are no kits.
I hope people will start thinking about this, because everyone still seems to think that they'll just import their über-buffed BG2 chars and start Diablo in NWN. Tough luck.
[This message has been edited by Taluntain (edited May 08, 2001).]
Nobleman Tue, 8th May '01, 11:49pm This post started with the adventures mart and ended with transferring characters to NWN. Interesting....
The crimson chain is well enough for a barbarian.
By the way. Ribald Barteman is a poor businessman. Never keep your supplies hidden. :)
He wont get it sold now....
And To the NWN-toppic.
There is no logic in the hearts of humans.
We love our characters and it is a great satisfaction to get our characters with us in NWN, no matter how insignificant the difference is between them, and a brand new character from the PC-factory-engine
cathon Wed, 9th May '01, 12:03am I imagine importing characters, if it is implemented, will be:
Taking your character's base stats (they are still the same stat types and on a similar scale, except for the fighter exceptional strength is gone) and allowing you the possibility of adding points to them based on your character level.
Dropping kits and dividing up your experience based on how much in each type (48,000 points in fighter, 60,000 in mage, etc.) and determining your class levels based on this.
Then take these and create a 3rd Edition character out of them. Basically keeping names, stats, portraits and approximate levels and redoing the rest. It is possible they could convert items, or other things, but I would guess they will consider that more trouble than it is worth.
MHO,
Cathon
Blackthorne TA Wed, 9th May '01, 1:15am NWN is a new game built for 1st level characters. Your experience will not transfer.
kasio Wed, 9th May '01, 8:30am Blackthrone - how do you know this? Just made it up because this seems logcal to you???
Youre not right i am afraid.
1st. if they didnt even think of implementing importing - they DEFINITELY would not DECLARE it in save/load message (which you read about 100 times during the game!!)! I dont think thats a marketing trick. This is a serious promise. If theyd just oce posted one sentence in their web page: "well we think importing will be implemented", i d rather agree with your logics. But now - not a chance. Want to make a bet?
2nd. About 3rd edition rules... Who cares. Technically it is possible to import Diablo chars in BG, or Fallout chars in BG.
PS I repeat myself: I think dedicated players deserve a pleasant advante for playing BG2 when they start NWN. How exactly it should look to my mind - read above.
PPS And i think game would loose another 40% (1st 40% it lost when they canceled freely explorable world map) of its flexibility and freedom if they didnt allow importing.
Ezmer Wed, 9th May '01, 10:06am They will probally let you imports your character and stats. Maybe some items too. I am certain you will start out at lev 1 however. The advantage to this is that they will "probally" let you keeo your high stats if you got the tomes from BG1. They will probally implement a way of disqualifying any hacked cahracters.
kasio Wed, 9th May '01, 11:06am Is it an assumption or you know more than you are telling?
Ezmer Wed, 9th May '01, 11:23am I read somewhere, probally planetbauldergate, that a programmer said that you would start at lvl one.
Since I can't remember where i read it its pretty worthless.
Nobleman Wed, 9th May '01, 12:09pm I find it disturbing how Taluntain & Blackthorne TA can be misunderstood in his conversation.
As I read theese messages I find
One: Yes You can import Your character to NWN
(but that message that pops up a 100 times during a game doesn't say that the following is false.Hey Bob! welcome to the sleasy commercial world)
two: Your character will loose all his xp.
kasio Wed, 9th May '01, 12:34pm Whats the sense of imporing then?
I dont believe you neither. Developers cant screw their faithful players! They CANT!!! I dont BELIEVE IT!!!! Lots of people play BG1 and BG2 just to import character in NWN when it comes out!!!!!! I dont BELIEVE exp will not transfer!!! NO!
Big B Wed, 9th May '01, 1:39pm Search your feelings you know it to be true...
First of all, I have read it countless times, you should check out the news updates on the front page, you might learn something.
But I will give you the official thing...
http://www.neverwinternights.com/about.html
Under the "Player Character" section, #3.16
There's your proof :D
kasio Wed, 9th May '01, 2:11pm Betrayers!
3.16 - Can I import my character from Baldur's Gate?
they will lose all of their experience and items, essentially return to a Level 1 state.... This is to ensure that characters remain fair and balanced for everyone's enjoyment.
Yea right, if some guy who played BG1,2 for four years without food and sleep gets a little bit stronger this is called unfair and disbalance. Great.
And one more thing:
3.12 - Will I be controlling an individual character or an entire party?
In Neverwinter Nights you control only your character directly. ...it will be possible to transfer control from one creature to another. We will also provide you with partial control over henchmen and summoned creatures. ...followers and freelancers will always remain under the primary control of the computer.
What the hell? Are we going to have another Diablo????????????? Just because it is sold 3M copies??????????????
Oh my god look what i read!
...true BioWare tradition, the official campaign, which represents approximately 60 hours of gameplay, is rich and epic...
Measely 60 hours!!!!!! oh my god! what happened to those people????!?!?! Ad&d is dying...
This IS another Diablo....

Slappy Wed, 9th May '01, 3:05pm Kasio, with the Never Winter Nights stuff, I think the thing is to realise that it is intended as being quite a different type of game to the BG series. The main focus of NWN, and what makes it the most exciting role playing game in development, is that it aims to combine the very best of Pen & Paper (P&P) with the best of compter games. In particular, it will allow you to roleplay, through your computer, with other roleplayers from all around the world in tailor made adventures designed by experienced roleplayers. (The emphasis on 'roleplayers' is deliberate).
In BG etc we have always been confined by the limitation of having to have a storyline in a self contained game. With NWN (just like P&P) that limitation is removed. The game is also very different to the Everquest type games in that you will be able to play & design dedicated adventures that are restricted to only people you want to have in the game. The presence or proper DM should mean the adventures are of a much higher quality than in Everquest and you won't have to pay a subscription. Alternatively there will also be some permanent worlds (like ALFA) that will allow a greater number of players. Anyway, its difficult to sum up everything that it can do. I suggest you read the stuff on the NWN here or visit the Bioware official site or the article I've posted a link to below for more info.
In closing, I think of NWN as a 'multiplayer' computer game for people who love pen & paper roleplaying. It will include a single player option but this is like a P&P adventure for one and so is unlikely to be as good as BG as a single player experience. The single player has probably been included:
1) as a sort of training adventure before going on-line
2) to help the game sell (people don't all like mulit-player only).
You will probably also be able to download further single player adventures once the mod community gets going. So, if your are expecting BG3 and don't like proper roleplaying stay well clear of NWN:
http://www.pcgamer.co.uk/games/gamefile_preview_page.asp?item_id=4742
http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/NWN/index.htm
http://www.bioware.com/nwn/index.html
PS as to the importing/experience issue. The importing a charcater is fine as it lets people who become attached to a charcater use it without re-rolling. As I understand it DMs will be able to set an experience starting level and cap to suit their adventures. This is exactley the same as happens in P&P. If I design a new adventure for some inexperienced players starting from level 1 - I will not allow a more expereinced player to use his level 20 chracter as this unbalances the game and makes it unfair on the newbies. It is laos likely to be boring as hell for the level 20 person. The reward for being at level 20 is that I will design a specific, more difficult adventure to challenge and respect the player's character's level 20 abilities.
PPS if you are looking for BG3 you're better off looking at these upcoming games rather than NWN:

kasio Wed, 9th May '01, 3:46pm Thanks for links, Slap. Star wars rpg sucks of course. Pool of radiance could be interesting.
Seems that NWN is completely another story.
Pity. Baldur sequence has ended with BG2.. Which seems to be agony compared to BG1...
Lord Praetor Munir Wed, 9th May '01, 3:52pm also.. u have to pay 50 gp to look at those new stuff... then again.. whtas 50 gp at such a stage?
Taluntain Wed, 9th May '01, 4:18pm Ah, so 20 posts later everyone finally came to see that what I posted is right. Oh ye of little faith.
Dreams shattered? Hopes lost? Good! We can now link to this thread every time some wiseguy starts yelling that everything from BG2 will just export into NWN.
Oh, and for the last time, NONE OF YOUR ITEMS WILL TRANSFER EITHER. Get it through your thick skull already. (kasio and/or everyone else who still won't drop it).
kasio Wed, 9th May '01, 5:05pm Items - well they could damage balance, but some additional xp as a reward for foodless/sleepless BG1,2 adventures would be FAIR and WONT do anything to BALANCE.
Hopes die last.
Earl Grey Wed, 9th May '01, 5:31pm * Adventurer's Mart is restocked discussion *
The high level spell scrolls he has after restocking are very nice! :)

* Neverwinter Nights discussion *
Also note this is 3.16:
... Ability scores will also be screened and modified to ensure that they conform to the 'Standard Point-Buy' system outlined in the 3rd Edition Dungeon Master's Guide.
This means that any effort put into rolling a long time for excellent stats is wasted!
Your BG/TotSC/BG2 character will thus:
- Lose all xp
- Lose all items
- Get completely new stats
Don't be so sure you get to keep the characters name or portrait either!
Yippee! I can import my character! :p
[This message has been edited by Earl Grey (edited May 09, 2001).]
kasio Thu, 10th May '01, 9:23am No but lets take a look on this questin from such angle:
Dont you agree that having a little higher stats and more xp as a compensation for playing BG1,2 would be rightful and honest?
And, moreover, would keep players interest on BG1,2?
TIN_MAN Thu, 10th May '01, 9:34am What about the special abilities, you gained in Hell, like immunity to +1 weapons and less and the 10% magic resistance? I suppose they'll disappear too. Then what is the point in importing my character? A BIG **** NOTHING!
Punkindrublic Thu, 10th May '01, 10:21am whats everyone whinging about u can import ure charector into throne of baull isn't that enough sides NWN is like a completly different game and plays so at another level so i say enjoy it
TIN_MAN Thu, 10th May '01, 2:09pm BG2 developers say that U can import your existing BG2 character into NWN! But after all this discussion I see no sense in importing anything! Right said my character's stats(an undead hunter and a sorcerer) don't go over the max(18). I can create a brand new char. with those stats, but if I lose all experience, all special abilities etc. THEN THERE IS NO POINT IN IMPORTING ANYTHING into NWN!This option HAS NO SENSE!
kasio Thu, 10th May '01, 2:19pm This is called KNAVERY.
If those bastards made worse games I would IGNORE them from now and forever...
Nobleman Thu, 10th May '01, 2:28pm That's true.
BLACK ISLE and BioWare don't havee monopoly on producing RPG.
Theese games aren't the end. They are the beginning. And it is people like You who seeks more, that makes a change.
PS. where is my pal? I can't start the BG2-weekend without him.
kasio Thu, 10th May '01, 3:05pm Thats right theoretically they dont have a monopoly. But practically there is oligapoly in AD&D CRPG market. And thats logical because this market just isnt large enough to attract more companies.
I think I know what should be done to change these games to better. I think I see the picture at least... But who listens to me... Even fans oppose all as one.
And right now i think AD&D game developement has moved from "invention" stage to "exploit and compromise" stage. They think how to satisfy wider and wider customers audience by exploiting current achievements of AD&D games. Making them articles of popular consumption. Thus making easy profit.
Thats where monks, metal sewers, red pianos, glass containers and deadline on Christmas comes in...
Great things that have been done during the history on mankind havent been affected by these factors.
What Mona Lisa looked like if Leonardo should have finished it until Christmas?
Truly genious games like Dune2, Doom, Quake, UFO1, Myst, BG1, Warcraft1, Fallout was made not for profit making (considering money factor, but this was not the main and only idea) BUT to realize, bring to LIFE the IDEA.
And thats how games, pictures, books, movies and other works of art (which later are cloned by those who think of profit only) must be done.
Little more care of design, story, rules and, yes, player (not money in his pocket)
and BG2 would be a great work of art. Now it is an beautiful woman with foxy beard.
Amen.
kasio

Earl Grey Thu, 10th May '01, 3:07pm I think the point here is that BI made a mistake in including the message about you getting to import your BG2 character into NWN and now we're making them pay for it by complaining about it.
It would be best if BI came out and said they made a mistake in making that promise instead of trying to weasel out of it like this! :o
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Reply to Kasio:
You come across as more negative than I think you really are, Kasio. Perhaps you are too ambitious and post your criticism before you have really thought it through. This is the feeling I get after having read many of your posts.
About your comments then:
Kasio wrote: "Making them articles of popular consumption. Thus making easy profit. Thats where monks, metal sewers, red pianos, glass containers..."
If we, the players, don't like the product we either stop buying their product or - if it's a minor flaw - we complain about it.
Naturally a company must make a profit and that's why they try to listen to what their customers say. Profit is not the only incentive for a company. If the people who work there like what they are doing it's more likely to do well. Can you honestly say that you know that BI or BioWare is devoid of people who burn for what they do and like crpg's? I don't think you can.
[This message has been edited by Earl Grey (edited May 10, 2001).]
kasio Thu, 10th May '01, 3:11pm Yea, promise first, think after.
cotman68 Thu, 10th May '01, 3:12pm response to original topic:
there are 2 really nice items that are restocked in the mart:
1. protection from magic scrolls x 2
2. +4 2-handed sword (with 1d12 damage)--best non-paladin, non-evil 2-handed sword in the game--better than the vorpal sword because the vorpal is 1d10 and +3.. take it from a half-elf kensai with grandmastery in 2-handed weapons
[This message has been edited by cotman68 (edited May 10, 2001).]
Nobleman Thu, 10th May '01, 3:45pm to Cutmann68:
You say that a additional bonus of +1 (dealing 14 insted of 13 in damage "JUST AN EXAMBLE") and having one lower THAC0, is BETTER than the ability to slay creatures? HAve You tried playing with the vorpal-sword?
I find the secondary ablility most efficient..
To Kasio:
Then my friend, we have already failed. Don't bring Yourself down with cynisism and apocalypse.
Did Martin L. King say: "we are doomed?" Nay he fought for his dreams. And so shall You.
And for me. I dont ever think about replacing my pen and paper RPG with computerRPG in the near future. Try playing pe&paper and let Baldurs Gate be Baldurs Gate for a while.
EDITED HERE:
You mention all the 1. games in a series.
Perhaps a new AD&D games series eventually finds its way to the market. An D&D game that tries out new ideas. The ideas You have metioned. Even though we are few buyers. We are still the ones spending a lot of money.
[This message has been edited by Nobleman (edited May 10, 2001).]
Lord Praetor Munir Thu, 10th May '01, 3:56pm man.. this is starting to look serious
kasio Thu, 10th May '01, 4:35pm Earl Grey,
"Can you honestly say that you know that BI or BioWare is devoid of people who burn for what they do and like crpg's? I don't think you can"
I am half sure I CAN... Follow me:
You say they like their job (some of them do, no doubt), they do it not for only for money, but olso to realize their IDEAS. So they are kind of artists you say. And they create (should create) an art. Maybe lets compare them to Leonardo I mentioned above... And their job to Mona Lisa (ridiculous, but still).
SO CAN you imagine that Leonardo has finished his painting and saw that there are some faults left though... Do you believe he would start a new painting without correcting current? Without making it perfect? He loves his painting it is a part of him, so he will surely correct his faults. And every artist would...
BG2 developers decided not to release new patches. They see their Mona Lisa corrupted through and and over, but they dont fix it.
Patches must be for free you see. They dont worth efforts. Lets throw software-engineer force to make new game, to make new money.
It is obvious.
Jack Funk Thu, 10th May '01, 4:52pm Hey Kasio,
Lighten up a little.
It's a game.
It's the gaming industry.
It's business.
Why do you have this crazy idea that they owe you something? You paid your money and got your game. So shut up and play it.
I don't know what or who made you so unhappy/angry. But trying to take it out on a group of people (BI) who have done you no wrong is senseless. When you have lived a little more and have had life give you a real slap, you'll realize why *****ing about stuff like this is a waste of time and energy. You obviously have a lot of both available.
Some suggestions:
* work out (it does wonders for me)
* leave the house (other than to go to school)
* talk to some girls (they are not as scary as you think)
You have posted some interesting topics and responses on this board. However, much of the time you come across as a shrill whiner.
This is the only time I am going to post to you about this.
Now back to discussing the game.
kasio Thu, 10th May '01, 5:09pm * I work out regulary (3+ times per week)
* leave the house (i am at home only when eat, sleep or play BG2)
* talk to some girls (i got 2 g-friends already am thinking of 3rd and dont want to talk to any more, because 4+ i just can not afford.)
"shrill whiner"? My voice is very deep.
But i am:
*keen on discussions
*paladin by temper and nature (maybe a little of berserker), i seld-denyingly fight the wrongness, greed, evil.
Good bye I am going to rest.
Modjahed Thu, 10th May '01, 6:33pm Hey, Kasio,
Maybe it is not worth it. I do not know if you'll apply the term "Russial Soul" to yourself. If you do, most of the people here will not understand you.
Did you watch "Barber of Siberia" by Mikhalkov?
People from the West just can't understand us being THAT SERIOUS about EVERYTHING.
But that is a "Whatnots" discussion.
Now back to the topic. My new party entered Spellhold after doing Lilarcor, De'Arnise and Trademeet - NOTHING else - I wanted Imoen to keep up with the group on exp. For me the stuff sold in the upgraded AM will not be so bad.
Dauntalus Thu, 10th May '01, 10:29pm Before you get to far along on your artist kick, I would just like to point out that putting paint on a canvas and getting 1's and 0's to create a CRPG are two completely different things. If you wanted them to create a perfect game the would NEVER finish, trust me.
And just so you are aware, the Mona Lisa is not perfect. Just ask Mr. DaVinci, he wasn't so fond of that painting.
kasio Fri, 11th May '01, 9:39am Modjahed,
I partly agree with you that it isnt woth it. Games must be pop culture and satisfy wide masses of consumers, so i must not expect them to be art subjects. I just wonder about books and movies... They also should have gone the way CRPG did. Still time after time some non-pop movies appear... I know thats just a game but as I told i am keen on discussions and paladin/berserker by temper (I wouldnt call myself russian soul. If i wanted to compare myself to guy called "Minhauzen", you know this russian movie? Wasnt it also by Mikhalkoff?
What i liked here is that this isnt just FAQ discussion group. Kinda community of people united by common interests, not only the game. Kinda weird chat.
Think I must now pay more attention to my job duties as last week i have paid MUCH more attention to this discussion and thoughts about "how to make ad&d world better?" I think I will soon see a nightamre with red piano pursuing me throuogh Irenicus dungeon.
Parvini Fri, 11th May '01, 6:03pm Kasio - your point about consumerism in modern gaimig is true. But it's just like anything else... Music for example. Yes in the year 2001 aesthetic integreity has given way to boy bands and their souless bland pop BUT there are still those that continue in the vain of Bob Dylan and the Beatles and do it for the love of music. For every Boy Zone there is a Blur, for every Britney spears there is a Lauryn Hill and for every money grabbing exec. there is a dedicated programmer or developer there somewhere making the best game that they can for you. This is D&D I doubt anyone who was not interested in the first place would even be associated with the implementation of the product. It's not like NWN is a sell out or anything. This is not a travesty to gaming in the same light of Sony's decsion to ruin mainstream gaming with the playstation (thus putting practically Sega out of business) and under cutting my beloved Nintendo. It seems to me Kasio that you are the type of person who will not be satisfied with what you have...
PS: Don't bother trying to have 2 girlfriends, it'll only end in tears and a headache, trust me ;)
cotman68 Fri, 11th May '01, 11:25pm err.. Nobleman.. my point re: the +4 sword is this:
The +4 sword is 1d12 --which means it does 5-16 points of damage + strength bonus.. while the vorpal sword is 1d10 + 3 so it does 4-13 points of damage per swing + strength bonus.
now, sure, the 25% of the time the vorpal will try to sever an opponents head, BUT the opponent does get a save (at -2) .. thus making instant death vs. a powerful opponent very rare indeed.
my kensai had a THACO of -13 by the time he returned from the underdark--meaning he hit anyone/anything just about anytime he took a swing. and the extra damage (albeit not hugely more than the vorpal) meant that I did more damage (especially if I used Kai and considering my grandmastery/multiple attacks per round).
my conclusion: the vorpal sword is a nice sword (especially if you are taking on alot of medium powered enemies OR using save game/reload ad naseum to kill a major bad dude). but the +4 long sword was just a little better.
Nobleman Mon, 14th May '01, 4:11pm Without a ring of Gaxx. Its just nice to instant kill a few of the lesser creaures before they get a hit on You. If I face those awesome monsters with high saves I usually use a lot of potions/spells etc making the difference 5-16 and 4-13 seem meaningless.
Jadriel Mon, 14th May '01, 6:02pm PRESS RELEASE : Official Instructions for importing a BG2 character into NWN as of 14/05/01*
1. Load BG 2 in the usual method. Make sure your computer is switched on, your game CD is inserted, and you are facing your monitor and, ideally, conscious.
2. Load the desired BG 2 save position. Some users may find usage of a mouse or similar pointing device to be of some benefit. Your mileage may vary.
3. As soon as your saved position loads, pause the game. Now take Pencil and Paper (sold seperately see stockist) and perform a Writing Down operation on each player name.
4. For more advanced users, execute a Rough Sketch of the player. However, do not attempt this if you are a new user or unfamiliar with the interface.
5. Load Neverwinter Nights (tm) in the usual method. Again, remain orientated towards your monitor or display device. Full orientation is not completely necessary as long as you maintain occular contact.
6. Select Start New Game, then select Create New Character. Then perform a Transfer operation from your Pencil And Paper (sold seperately see your stockist) device to Neverwinter Nights (tm).
7. Advanced users : Look carefully at your Rough Sketch and select the portrait that most closely resembles your configuration. Don't worry about making a small mistake here; Neverwinter Nights (tm) advanced import techniques ensure the game will remain stable and crash-free throughout this process.
8. Enjoy your imported character!
9. Should you encounter problems, some things to try involve dimming the monitor display to obscure the offending differences, spraypainting over the problem on your monitor, or writing Neverwinter Nights (tm) on your monitor with a soft felt marker before running Baldurs Gate II (tm).
Should you encounter further problems, don't hesitate to contact our Character Import Utility help workshop at www.g-ats-.-- (http://www.g-ats-.--) **
Thankyou.

*I'm earnestly sorry, I just couldn't help myself :)

kasio Wed, 16th May '01, 11:25am Just spotted this old and almost dead topic... What an awful and derisive last reply :D
And what a srtange poster of this post!
This mysterious Jadriel. Approached here suddenly. Made one poor sarcastic post and vanished... That pushes me to think that this guy actually could be a well known personality here. Surrendered to temptation of mockery, changed name for conspiracy as didnt want to loose his reputation... Becouse he is well known and respected here. Such a naked mockery wouldnt earn him any prizes... But the temptation was too high...
Wait.. Are there any well repected people who tends to a little sarcasm in this question (importing characters)? Have they posted their sarcasmic tended answers in this thread before? Who was it?
Come out, come out whoever you are...
Jadriel Wed, 16th May '01, 11:34am I believe the term is trolling :)
Besides, I don't see any harm in a little light hearted sarcasm provided it's not aimed at anyone in particular :)
..
As for the rest, I used to be registered on here, forgot the login, got bored at work, re-regged, posted, forgot. :)
kasio Wed, 16th May '01, 11:38am Ouch, ouch... 3 days of silence and then so fast answer!!!! I shouldnt wait for it longer than a 2 minutes? Coinsidence.. I dont think so... Looks like you would do nothing more than looking through and checking this forum, just like moderators (Darien Noella, Blackthorn TA and MY DEAR FRIEND TALUNTAIN) do!
What a strange person you are...
Jadriel Wed, 16th May '01, 11:39am I assure you, an accident of coincidence. Again, I find myself rather bored at work :)
kasio Wed, 16th May '01, 11:47am 3 days of silence SINCE YOUR 1st post (which was also just like someone's who want to hide oneself), and then immediate answer, 3 minutes after I posted a message concerning you... Jut got bored with work, yea?
IF that is coincidence Mr (well we both know who you are), I have to say that we are witnesing here critical roll of 10 000 on a 10 000 sided dice....
Jadriel Wed, 16th May '01, 11:49am ... and yea, the goblin killed the mighty silver with a well thrown pebble to the temple.
:)
kasio Wed, 16th May '01, 11:58am yea right.
And your desperate alibi providing...
You shouldnt bother so much if what you say is true. Actually it shouldnt concern you at all...
You know Mr "kasio knows you", Internet definitely grants anonimity af some kind, but you should think of how to maintain it...
Basically I think there would be no big deal if you posted this character-importing sarcasm under your real name.

As I said - nothin'would have happened if u posted sarcasmic-importing message under your own nick ;)
(Very sorry for double posting :o)

kasio Wed, 16th May '01, 1:41pm Aw, come o-oooon. Stop this.
Just too many coincidencies.
Mendanbar Wed, 16th May '01, 6:33pm Kasio, you really need to buff up on your art history if you are going to use it as an example. Leonardo only finished somewhere around 10 pieces of artwork total. That is of the near 1000(?) he started. Damn now I cant remember how many he started.
If i can find my source i'll quote it but he only completed 10 i know. He liked to get about half done then he would just stop, and move on to another project that he would only do about half of. How would you like your computer programers to follow that example?
